My Tent

Memoir of a Soldier in Kuwait

Mr. Chip's

My canvas tent sitting in the hot sun

With a make-shift wooden door closed by a rock

Sand underneath, sand inside, hot winds blowing on the terrain

No end to them in sight

Me seeking solace inside my tent

Sleeping in my rack

To myself as the ranking man

Watching a little TV to kill the time

Click the remote and the French satellite brings the picture view

But the sand just can't escape it

But at least I am safe far from home in my tent

Open my frig to get a little food

Another liter of water

Reflects the light from the desert moon
