I have compiled a list of my all time favorite Christmas movies, some of which are a must see during the holidays. Most of these movies you can catch on cable or satellite TV. If you missed your favorite movie on TV don't fret, they are just a movie store rental away. Or if you're like me, you own a copy of your favorite movies on DVD so you can pop them in anytime of year when you are feeling the spirit of Christmas.
My Top 10 Christmas Movie List
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
- A Christmas Story (1983)
- Home Alone (1990)
- White Christmas (1954)
- Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
- It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
- Babe's in Toyland (1961)
- Polar Express (2004)
- Scrooged (1988)
- Elf (2003)
What could be better than spending Christmas with the Griswold's? National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) is the number one Christmas movie hands down. Actually in my opinion it is my favorite movie of all time! It is one of those movies that just never gets old. I can practically quote it word for word from beginning to end. This is one of the best movies Chevy Chase has ever made. I can still remember my dad laughing nonstop through this entire movie. And I'll never forget one Christmas when my grandma reminded us all of Aunt Bethanie when she came for Christmas dinner. She insisted that dad had put in a new ceiling in the living room but we reassured her that it was still the old water stained ceiling we had had for 20 years or more. It was priceless.
It wouldn't be Christmas without seeing A Christmas Story. Who can forget that adorable Ralphie, Red Rider BB Gun and that bunny costume? This Christmas classic is a must see during the holidays.
And the holidays wouldn't be complete without seeing Home Alone at least once. Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister is priceless. He is adorable, funny and very entertaining. It is a movie that the whole family will enjoy.
Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without watching one of your favorite holiday movies.

Post a CommentDefinitely have to watch the Grisswolds' on Christmas Eve-an a couple of other times before, sometimes on Christmas Day too! Love Home Alone and Elf has become a favorite too. I still love Christmas in Connecticut and my husband loves Holiday Inn. There are so many good ones that it would be hard to narrow it down to ten! Good list!
Not one version of "A Christmas Carol"? Come on!
