My Top 10 Favorite Country Christmas Songs of All Time

I love country music. I was raised listening to country music. It's all about real life and real people. Christmas is my favorite holiday. The fact that Jesus loved me enough to even leave Heaven to come here for me amazes me, so I get to combine two of my favorite things in this article. Asking me to pick a top 10 country Christmas list is like asking a bird which note is best to chirp. I love going through these old albums, though, so this article has been a pleasure to write.

Mary Did You Know by Kenny Rogers on the album The Gift. This song is just haunting. It is one of my very favorite Christmas songs of all time.

George Strait singing There's a New Kid In Town on the album Merry Christmas Strait to You. The New Kid In Town is Jesus, and the wise men are seeking Him.

Little Drummer Boy by Chet Atkins on the album Christmas with Chet Atkins. This song is completely instrumental, but Chet Atkins does an incredible rendition. It has a soft, simple sound, but it turns out just gorgeous.

Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy by Buck Owens on the album Christmas with Buck. Buck Owens does such a great job with this fun song about how Santa wasn't exactly what was expected. I love the line "I'm a gonna tell on them" when Santa puts his arms around Mama.

George Strait singing Christmas Cookies on the album Country Superstar Christmas 3. This is such a fun song. It just isn't Christmas at our house without George Strait and Christmas Cookies.
