That Girl is a Cowboy - More classically country than rock, this is one of the more recent songs on my list. I don't know what it is about it, but I'm thinking it's that he's bragging about his girl being a cowboy, not being a pretty, made-up, city girl. It's comforting to a (formerly) rural girl like me.
Wrapped Up in You - One of the most romantic songs I've ever heard! It's not a nice bouncy beat, and you can just picture the smile on Garth's face when he sings it. It's a very fun song.
Belleau Wood - The saddest song in Garth's repertoire in my opinion. It's about soldiers in the field during World War II during a Christmas truce. I cry almost every time I hear it, but it's got a beautiful message.
Rodeo - Another very country song. About the rodeo, obvously, but has some neat vocalizations and lyrics. Can't help but sing along to it!
Shameless - One of Garth's Billy Joel covers. I didn't know it was a cover until maybe a year ago, either! Anyhow, this one has more rock flavor to it than many of the other songs on my list, but it's pretty, and another one I sing along to. There's a good reason it's on the greatest hits albums that have been released!
Mr. Blue - A lesser known song, but still one of my favorites. It's got a Patsy Cline feel to it, with a jaunty beat but sad lyrics. The wordplay in this one is fun.
Your Song - Not to be confused with Elton John's song of the same name, this is a pretty piece that features a piano and Garth. Listening to the version of it that came out on Double Live always gives me shivers. It even sounds like Garth gets choked up, singing it.
Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old) - A driving song. One of Garth's older ones, it's a classic country song about the world getting younger (it couldn't be about getting older!).
Two of a Kind (Working on a Full House) - Very very country! There's a lot of fun twang to this one, but it's a funny, warm, and great song to sing along to. Another of the ones that came out when Garth was still becoming popular.
The Dance - One of the most common favorites for fans, I put it here because I specifically remember dancing to it at one of my high school dances, when the full meaning of it hit me - life hurts. That's why it can be so good.
I hope you love Garth as much as I do!
