I don't claim to be a chocolate candy bar enthusiast. I don't know when and where these candies were first made or where they are made now. I don't know which ones aren't being sold anymore or which ones are the most popular. I do know one thing though. When it comes to chocolate candy bars I have ten favorites which I have ranked with a top ten list.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 10: Nestle Crunch
Nestle Crunch chocolate candy bars are made with a combination of milk chocolate and crisped rice, which gives the candy bar its "crunch". Nestle Crunch has been around 1938, according to their website, and has been a favorite of many children and adults alike. Not only are Nestle Crunch bars great for eating by themselves but they make great substitutes for plain chocolate for s'mores.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 9: 3 Musketeers
There are three women seated in a movie theater. One woman opens her purse and up floats a 3 Musketeers candy bar. Very effective advertising I'd say even though I'd say that it is a pretty lame commercial. 3 Musketeers are delicious chocolate candy bars filled with a chocolate nougat center which makes it unique to other more traditional candy bars. These chocolate candy bars used to be my sweet tooth cure while in the Army.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 8: Butterfinger
Butterfinger is well known for its crispy orangey center. Images of Homer Simpson also seem to come to mind thanks to the Simpsons/Butterfinger marketing campaign of the past. These delicious candy bars made by Nestle were born in 1923 by the Curtiss Candy Company.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 7: Baby Ruth
Yet another candy bar made by Nestle, Baby Ruth lands on my favorites list at number seven. Like Butterfinger, Baby Ruth was introduced in the early 1920's by the Curtiss Candy Company. According to the Baby Ruth website the candy is said to be named after former President Grover Cleveland's baby daughter, Ruth. Baby Ruth chocolate candy bars are known for being filled with peanuts glued together by a fudgy like nougat and covered in a thin layer of chocolate.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 6: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my husband's favorite chocolate candy so we often have them in our house. While they aren't really bars they are close enough to fit on this list. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are a product of Hershey's and have come out in several different flavors and sizes. There are also Reese's Whipps which are a peanut buttery chocolate candy bar with a soft whipped peanut butter center.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 5: Kit Kat
"Give me a break, give me a break, break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar." Catchy song, delicious chocolate candy bars! Crispy wafers covered in chocolate, what's not to love? According to their website Kit Kat bars are the number one selling candy bar in the U.K. Personally I enjoy stirring a stick of Kit Kat in my hot chocolate, talk about delicious!
Chocolate Candy Bar # 4: Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds
Hershey's Milk Chocolate candy bars are delicious, add some almonds and you have a chocolate candy bar that is hard to resist. While some chocolate candy bars can get quite fancy with their filling and ingredients sometimes all you crave is something simple such as Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds. When it comes to nutty candy bars, move over Mr. Goodbar, Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds takes the cake!
Chocolate Candy Bar # 3: Whatchamacallit
What are you eating? A Whatchamacallit. What's it called? A Whatchamacallit. I remember these commercials when I was a kid. The one I remember the most was the two men doing a comedy act revolving around the name of the candy bar. There is another commercial with two baseball kids, which you can watch here, as well. This chocolate candy bar is deliciously addictive and has a name you aren't soon to forget. Peanut flavored crisp candy with caramel and topped with chocolate, can you say yum-o?
Chocolate Candy Bar # 2: Snickers
Want to satisfy your hunger? The Snickers bar claims to do just that. The Snickers chocolate candy bar is made from peanuts, nougat, caramel, and milk chocolate which combine to make a satisfying and addictive chocolate candy bar. Just so you know I'm not the only one who thinks Snickers is delicious, according to Wikipedia the Snickers chocolate candy bar is the best selling candy bar of all time. As for me, Snickers is my second favorite chocolate candy bar of all time.
Chocolate Candy Bar # 1: Twix
I loved them as a child. I love them now. I love them when I want a chocolate candy bar fix. I love them because it is easy to share. I love Twix for their chocolate caramel cookie bar goodness. If you like you can buy the peanut butter Twix bars instead of the caramel, but for me caramel is a favorite. Twix was first introduced in the U.S. in 1979 according to Wikipedia. Twix chocolate candy bars are great because they allow me to eat just one stick when I am having a mild craving for something sweet or two bars when I feel indulgent. Twix chocolate candy bars, my personal favorite, are easily my favorite candy bars of all time.

my favorite cocolate is twix its the best
When I was a kid my favorite was the Mars Almond Bar. It was topped with three chocolate covered almonds. As far as I know they don't make it any more. These days I love imported chocolate. Milka, Lindt, and Choceur (available at Aldi's) are my favorites. The quality far exceeds Hershey's or any other popular chocolate company in the U.S. The calories probably far exceed the U.S. chocolate too!
