My Top 5 Angelina Jolie Movies

Angelina Jolie is beautiful, talented, and heavily involved with charities. She's fascinated us for years, and it's not looking like that will fade for some time. Here are my top five movies with Jolie in them, some of which are unconventional at best.

Hackers (1995) - Jolie was the lead female role in this film about a group of computer hackers. Jonny Lee Miller starred as Dade Murphy, a boy who's already been in trouble for Hacking, and Jolie plays Kate, the love interest who also happens to be a strong female character and a hacker to boot. Hackers also starts Matthew Lillard as the goofiest of their hacking bunch. A notable difference between this and many other Jolie films is that she has short hair, and it's one of her earliest, released when she was only 20 years old or so.

Girl, Interrupted (1999) - Four years after Hackers, Jolie was blossoming as an actress. For her Academy-Award Winning role in Girl, Interrupted, she played Lisa, a girl in the mental hospital that most of the movie is set in. The movie is based on a true story, and stars Winona Rider. The cast was full of young and promising stars, including Brittany Murphy, Clea DuVall, and Jared Leto, with Whoopie Goldberg rounding it out with her years of experience. Jolie plays an antagonistic character, and it's interesting to watch, to say the least.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) - Jolie ventured into action films for the first time. While critics weren't fond of the movie, the box office income wasn't anything to scoff at. Jolie put on a British accent and some interesting costumes to play this female version of an Indiana Jones and James Bond amalgamation. Oddly enough, Daniel Craig played a character in the movie as well, and went on to be James Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) - In the same old-fashioned serial style as Indiana Jones, Jolie took on a smaller role in Sky Captain, alongside Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow. Giovanni Ribisi rounded out this cast. The cinemetography and styling is perhaps the most interesting thing in this movie, which is constantly just barely out of focus like many old movies were. Jolie was nominated for a Saturn award for Best Supporting Actress as well.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) - Put the kids to bed for this one. Jolie plays a seemingly docile housewife, Brad Pitt plays the equally docile husband.. Until it's revealed that both are 007-esque spies and occasional assassins. Multiple awards were won, and even more were nominated, for the on-screen chemistry we're given by Pitt and Jolie.
