5) "Daddy's Hands" Holly Dunn

From the Album "Holly Dunn" 1986

I liked this song the first time I heard it in 1986. I was 19 years old, and while I liked the song, it took a few years for the depth of this song to really sink in, and for the lyrics to truly touch me as they are meant to.

When I was in my thirties my Dad died, and that is when the song really hit home for me. It made me realize how much I truly missed my Daddy's hands, comforting me and my children. This song brings me to tears almost every time I listen to it, but it makes me remember all of the love that was in my Daddy's hands, and I feel comforted in a way that I can not explain. This song is without a doubt one of my top 5 favorite heart touching songs.

4) "You're Gonna Miss This" Trace Adkins

From the Album "American Man: Greatest Hits Volume II" 2007

This song is another that gets the tears flowing. It is also a very true song. I want my kids to realize they need to slow down, don't be so eager to get through school, move away and grow up. Because just as I do now, as I look back when they were first born, and I was so eager for all the firsts to happen, they will miss all the things going on now, that they were so eager to hurry through, one day, We rush through life, we want to experience all the great things life has to offer, but sometimes we don't take time to truly treasure what is going on at the moment.

We all need to slow down and take the time to truly look around us, and see how special the moment we have now is, and one day we are going to miss those early times.

3) "A Father's Love Bucky Covington

From the Album "I'm Alright" expected for release on April 27, 2011, single released to Radio March 2010

Bucky Covington is my favorite country singer. The song of his that truly touches me is "A Father's Love". This song always brings memories of my Dad flooding back. Dad's are a little different than Mother's. Moms find it easy to say I love you; however Dad's express it with the things that they do. A Father's Love is a perfect song that reminds us all that even if Dad does not say I love you, just watch the things that he does. He is showing you he loves you with each and everything he does.

2) "Alyssa Lies" Jason Michael Carroll From the Album "Waitin' in the Country" 2006"Alyssa Lies" makes me cry each and every time I hear it. I get goose bumps all over me. The visuals this song creates concerning child abuse are ones you are sure not to forget even when the song reaches the end of the story. It will make you stop and think and hopefully the song will save even just kid. Whether it is by an adult turning in a situation that concerns them or an abused child hearing the song and letting someone know what they are going through. Though the song is extremely sad it makes you aware of how devastating child abuse is and how it can affect their friends. Pay attention you what your children say about a friend, you may just be saving a child's life.

1) "Maybe You Should" Taylor Hicks

From the Album "The Distance" 2009

The first time I heard Taylor Hicks' "Maybe You Should", off of his second album titled "The Distance" I was instantly hooked. The lyrics just grabbed my attention and pulled at my heart strings. Today pop music fills the air waves and Hicks' "Maybe You Should" is a very pleasant change of pace.

We have all felt heartache. Many of us have felt the pain of being in a relationship, where we felt that deep down inside the one we loved might not feel the same way. It is better for them to just walk away than to stay, if the love is not the there.

"Maybe You Should" is a heartfelt plea to a lover, that if you can just walk away and throw it all away then maybe you should. It is a sad and touching song. Sometimes no matter how much you love someone, if the feeling is not the same for them, than maybe you should just walk away. "Maybe You Should" is my favorite song on my top 5 heart touching songs list.

Since my father passed away (when I was in my early twenties) I have been able to listen to Daddy's hand. If it comes on the radio, I quickly change the station. To sad.
