My Top 5 Home Improvement Shows on HGTV

My Favorite Home Improvement Shows

Paula
In the past few years network television has became sort of background noise and the only shows that grab my attention seem to be the home improvement shows from HGTV. I seriously give it the same attention that I gave shows like Friends a few years ago. Not that Bob Villa wasn't a great host, but these days home improvement shows have gone beyond educational to becoming real entertainment with really great hosts. My top 5 home improvement shows are:

Color Splash hosted by David Bromstad and it is on Saturdays 8/9 central with the show being repeated thru-out the week. This show is my favorite not only is the host likable he is really good at changing the the look and feel of a room by just adding color. I'm not quite sure how, but his ideas as crazy as they sometimes seem to be, always look really good in the end. I find my self waiting for the end result as if this was a sporting event.

Another one of my favorite shows on HGTV is House Hunters International with Susanne Wang. This show lets you live out your fantasy of living or traveling abroad. The premises of the show is that a buyer will choose between three homes in fantasy destinations like , France, Portugal, Argentina or Hawaii. I have to say that my favorite shows are when the ones that take place in Europe and feature older buildings. It transports you from your living room to these places you may not otherwise ever get to see. Now how many times will be able to see the inside of an apartment in Paris. You can find show on HGTV right after house Hunters.

From the same host as House Hunters International comes the original, House Hunters. It comes on weekdays 9/8c. The idea is the same as House Hunters International, but it takes places in the USA. It gives you the inside on the person or family that is buying this house, by letting you know what they do, and need in this new house. Most of the times I find my self trying to tell these people what house to buy, and more than once I have been upset over the choice. Al tough you technically a improvement show, It is giving the new owners a life improvement by finding them the house they need.

If there ever was a home improvement show that was needed, this is the one. Spice up MY Kitchen, hosted by Lauren lake. The idea behind this show is simple. they take a not very functional and most of the times right down ugly kitchen and turn into a dream kitchen . The owner can choose from 2 different floor plans based on their budget. Being that most of us spend most of our times in the kitchen this is a show where the informational is used along side the entertaining. The show is on everyday at 4.30PM.

And last but definitely not least is Divine Design with Candace Olsen. The hostess of the show has a fun easy going personality and she drawn you in to the show, but it is her incredible talent to turn rooms into oasis that keeps you watching the show. She has turned drab basements into gorgeous spa like room. You can watch this home improvement show on HGTV, Saturdays at 4/3 central.
