My Top 5 Lipsticks for 2009

Every woman knows that going out the door without our makeup on in the mornings is just completely out of the question. We would never think of greeting the outside world without first adding the necessary color and camouflage that we feel we just can't do without. Personally, my vanity table is littered with a countless array of colorful and quite expensive products with containers that proudly display names like Max Factor, Maybelline and Avon. There are so many wonderful products available at area beauty supply stores. Products that swear to work one miracle or another on my skin, to add color and dimension to my aging lashes, to plump up my tiny lips or to camouflage those under eye bags and circles. When I go shopping for makeup products I usually end up with far more than I actually need, and spend way more money than I want to. But as a consumer, and with so many wonderful, miracle working products on the market, it's difficult to know what to buy and what to pass on by?

I have to admit that lipstick is my passion. I have a vast array of lipstick in many different colors. Each one claiming to have some advantage over the other. But I do have a few favorites that I always stick with. One of these would be Paris Colour Riche lipstick by L'Oreal. This is my absolute favorite because it adds color and dimension to my lips, while keeping them moisturized and kissable soft. And of course, with over 54 vivid colors, you can find one that is flattering to any skin tone. It's also anti-feathering which prevents your lip color from bleeding. And at only $9.00 at CVS, it's an excellent value. Another one of my favorites is Super Lustrous lipstick by Revlon. This is a wonderful product that is right up there with the other much more expensive lipsticks by popular designers. It comes in many bright, vivid hues, great mattes and beautiful sheers. Its wonderful price (just $8.00 at CVS and Walgreens) and terrific colors make this the perfect lip color for career women as well as housewives who just want that little spark that a great lipstick can add to their face.

Wetslicks Amaze Mint by Cover Girl is another product I love. It works as a double agent by adding a lightweight, peppermint scented gloss to your lips, while at the same time working to freshen your breath. It also comes in blue based tones of red, plum and pink to make your teeth look whiter. This is a really amazing product and on my vanity table you'll find several, one in just about every shade. It really does work to freshen your breath and give you the illusion of whiter teeth. And for only $6.00 at CVS and Walgreens it's an excellent, very economical beauty purchase. Maybelline Shine Reduction is a pretty simple and reliable concept. It doesn't promise you any thrills, just great, long lasting color and sophistication. It comes in about 10 different colors and can be found for $8.00 at area WalMart stores. Want something a little more expensive and beneficial to your lips? Then try 5 Lip Balm by La Mer. This lip balm is just loaded with vitamins and marine extracts that work to drench your lips in moisture while adding just the slightest hint of color and shine. 5 Lip Balm can be purchased online at Lamer.com for $45.00.

These are all wonderful products that provide beautiful results like plumb, color, moisture and protection from the sun for your lips. Even though many of these lipsticks offer SPF you may want to consider adding an additional layering of SPF protection under your lipstick, such as a lip balm designed for sun protection. These products can all be purchased online or at your local beauty supply stores. To get more information on these and other wonderful lipsticks visit www.maxfactor.com, www.maybelline.com or www.covergirl.com. You can also order products, receive coupons or free samples from many of these makeup sites as well.
