My Top 5 Southern Recipe Videos

Ann Siper
Southern recipes are some of my favorite in the world. I love cooking, which probably stems from being from the South. Here are some of my favorite Southern recipes made into videos.

#5 Southern Recipes Video

Chicken Salad of course has to be on my list of all time favorite Southern recipes. I made this video quite a while ago. It has been rather successful here at AC and I can only assume that is because so many people love to make chicken salad. I myself will often watch the cooking videos here for recipes I already love to make!

Number four is a Crab and Shrimp Casserole that my mother loves to make and my whole family loves to eat. This southern casserole recipe is so easy. My mother grew up on the coast of Georgia, so shrimp and crab abound in many of her recipes.

I hope you enjoy this super easy Southern seafood casserole recipe.

Grits 101 comes in at number three on my countdown of video recipes. Can you have a list of favorite southern foods and not include grits? I made Grits 101 because I love love love grits. I can not say that enough! I know; you Yankees have no idea what the fuss is about. Maybe you have to be born in the South to love grits.

Top mine with butter and salt and serve with a cold and sweet glass of ice tea and you have my favorite breakfast in the world! My recipe for grits here is the basic Southern version. I know you see all those Food Network chefs add everything form milk to cream, but basic grits are where it is at!

#2 Southern Recipes Video

How to Make Sweet Iced Tea was almost my number one favorite Southern Recipes Video. How to Make Mama's Sausage Biscuits beat it out because, well, the recipe is awesome! I love sweet tea. Nothing can beat a great recipe for sweet iced tea on a hot day. I prefer it with sugar only, but you can always add lemon or mint if you must mess with perfection!

#1 Southern Recipes Video

My mother's recipe for sausage biscuits makes the top of my list. This recipe is so easy to make and so good, which is the general rule for most southern recipes. No need to make some million ingredient deal that may or may not turn out! These sausage biscuits are a huge hit every time they are made.

How to Make Mama's Sausage Biscuits is the best Southern Recipe Video I have made so far. Not because the video is to fabulous, but the recipe is. I use Bisquick in the recipe, but my mother actually makes the biscuit dough from scratch. It is a wonder my whole family does not weigh a million pounds!

Any time my mother makes her version of sausage biscuits; they are the first thing to disappear off the table!
