A gutsy call by coach Jeff Fisher may have resulted in the team's second loss last week against the Texans.
Fisher opted to go for it on fourth down in the final minutes of the game instead of calling on the nearly perfect Rob Bironas for what could have been a go ahead field goal.
The gamble failed and the Titans dropped the game.
Of course there is no guarantee that Bironas would have made the kick but odds are he would have.
This week the Titans will take on the 11-3 Steelers in what could shape up as preview of a playoff game.
In the NFC a team that needs to be reckoned with is the 11-3 Carolina Panthers and my number one ranked fantasy player Steve Smith.
Smith and the Panthers will take on Eli Manning and the defending Superbowl Champion N.Y. Giants. I have selected Smith 17 times over the years and he has scored me 362 fantasy points for an average of 21.29 fantasy points per week.
Behind Smith on my list is Eli's brother Peyton Manning.
In 49 selections, Peyton is averaging 20.97 fantasy points per week. This week he will be coming off a successful week against the Lions.
Randy Moss of the Patriots is third on my list. In 12 selections Randy is averaging 20.58 fantasy points. Moss and the Patriots will take on Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals this week.
Eagles running back Brian Westbrook ranks fourth on my list averaging 20.26 fantasy points in 26 selections. Westbrook and the Eagles will take on the Washington Redskins this week.
Behind Westbrook on my overall list of top fantasy performers is Lions QB, Daunte Culpepper. Over the years, I have selected Culpepper 24 times. He has scored 482 points for me, an average of 20.08 fantasy points a week. However, Culpepper is taking a seat on the Lions bench due to a shoulder injury. Dan Orlovsky will attempt to lead the winless team to victory against the Saints and Reggie Bush, who moves up to sixth on my list averaging 19.3 fantasy points in 20 selections. However like Culpepper, Bush will be on the bench on the opposite side of the field with a knee injury.
Arizona Cardinal's QB Kurt Warner leaps into my top-10 averaging 19 fantasy points in seven selections. Warner and the Cards are coming off a tough loss against the Vikings.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens remains in eighth place on my over-all list with an 18.88 fantasy point average after nine selections.
Slipping to ninth on my list is Vikings running back Adrian Peterson averaging 18.25 fantasy points in 20 selections. The former OU Sooner is on the road to another NFL rushing title it appears. This week Peterson and the Vikings will take on the Falcons.
LaDainian Tomlinson rounds out my top-10 averaging 18.23 fantasy points in 13 selections. This week Tomlinson and the Chargers will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dropping out of my overall top-10 are Washington's Santana Moss and Clinton Portis as well as 49er running back Frank Gore.
My football over all top 10 does not include a kicker or a defense. Jason Elam is still my top ranking kicker, averaging 10.02 fantasy points per week while Minnesota is my top ranking defense of the past six years averaging 9.9 fantasy points per week in 30 selections.
My top 10 ranked players in 2008 are Reggie Bush averaging 20.77 fantasy points in nine selections.
Behind Bush in second place is Kurt Warner averaging 19 fantasy points.
In third place is Peyton Manning averaging 18.81 fantasy points in 11 selections.
In fourth place is Adrian Peterson averaging 17.16 fantasy points in six selections.
Behind Peterson is Santana Moss in fifth place. Moss is averaging 17 fantasy points in 10 selections.
Moss is followed by Brett Favre averaging 16.23 fantasy points in 13 selections.
Fellow Redskin Clinton Portis is in seventh place averaging 16.09 fantasy points in 11 selections this year.
In eighth place is a newcomer to my lists. Roddy White of the Atlanta Falcons is averaging 16 fantasy points per week in four selections. White is an affordable fantasy alternative that produces good numbers.
Dallas Clark of the Colts had a big week against the Lions, scoring 32 fantasy points. It was enough to rocket Clark into ninth place on my top-10 players of the year list with an average of 14.85 fantasy points in seven selections.
In 10th place is 49er running back Frank Gore averaging 13.5 fantasy points in six selections.
Falling out of the top-10 is long time former Denver and now Atlanta kicker Jason Elam averaging 13.16 fantasy points in six selections.
