My Top Favorite NYX Lipstick and Gloss Shade for the Summer

Trendy on a Budget

This summer brighten up your puckers with these fun colors from NYX cosmetics. I chose NYX because their products are affordable, and they have an immense selection of colors to choose from whether you're looking for a lipstick or a lip gloss. Not only that, their lip products tend to be very moisturizing, and that's important during summer.

NYX has a very extensive collection of lipsticks to choose from. From their Round lipstick line I would recommend the colors Eros, Ceto, Indian Pink, Vitamin, Twist, Fig, Spellbound, Femme and Saturn. Most of the colors I have listed are some shade of pink or nude. I know everyone's natural lip color differs and that lipstick will look different on one person than it would another. What I like about NYX round lipstick is that for the most part, their colors are true to color. In other words, the colors usually show up on the lips the way it looks on the tube. Their Round lipsticks retail for $4.50 a piece, and less on CherryCulture.com.

NYX has another line of lipstick called Diamond Sparkle, and like the name implies, these lipsticks are ultra shiny. These retail for $5.50 a piece on their website and in stores (I've only ever seen NYX products at ULTA). Some great summer colors in this line to try out are 'Sparkling Dusty Rose,' 'Sparkling Salmon,' 'Sparkling Nude,' and 'Sparkling Apricot.' Like the Round lipsticks, these colors are some shade of pink or nude.

If you're not a lipstick person, NYX has a few lip gloss line that offers many beautiful shades to choose from, nearly as many as their lipsticks. They have a Diamond Sparkle lip gloss line that offer the same colors as their lipstick version, obviously it's much more glossy. Their other lip gloss line is called Mega Shine. The colors I thought would be best suited for summer are 'Sweetheart,' 'Lollipop,' 'Chestnut,' 'Beige,' 'Sunrise,' 'Copper Penny,' 'Candy Shop,' and 'Juicy Red.' NYX's lip glosses retail for $5.50 a piece.

No matter what color or product you decide to wear this summer, or even if you choose to go bare on the lips, always remember to use sun protection. People often forget that the lips can get sun damaged too. There are tons of lip balms out there with SPF, even tinted ones. So before you sweep on that lipstick, or brush on that gloss, dab some SPF lip balm on first.
