1. Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer: This is one of my absolute favorites because when I start singing it, I can get almost everyone who's with me to join in. Also, the best part is, we always find something random to throw in, such as after singing "They never let poor Rudolph play in any reindeer games," we like to add "like Monopoly!" Sometimes, if we're in silly moods, we can come up with some crazy stuff to insert. I also like it because of the old TV movie!
2. Jingle Bell Rock: This was already one of my favorite Christmas songs, then the "Plastics" performed it on the movie, "Mean Girls," which is one of my favorite movies ever, and they made it memorable.
3. Run Rudolph Run: This song is one of my new favorites. The first time I ever heard it was on the movie, "Home Alone." I just bought a Christmas album on iTunes, which has this song on it, and I can't help but repeatng it sometimes. It's a really energetic Christmas song, and I love dancing around to it,
4. The 12 Days of Christmas: Usually, singing this song can get really boring and annoying, however, so many people have remade it, there's a version for everyone. My favorite is on Relient K's "Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand" CD. It's pop rockish. Also, another reason I love this song is because every year, my friends and I make up a new version, according to a theme. I think I have been working on my Beatles version for about 5 years.
5. Holly, Jolly Christmas: I remember singing this song in chorus as a kid. It's also an upbeat song. I love it because I have a Bumble toy from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys" that plays this song... and I absolutely love it.
6. Feliz Navidad: Most of my friends really hate this song, either because they don't know Spanish, or the song is very repetitive. I used to complain how much they played it on the radio where I live, however, I have grown quite accustomed to it. In fact, it's an upbeat song that I love playing when I play my Christmas music. That and I do know the Spanish part.
7. Jingle Bells: I simply love this song, because whenever I ask my husband to sing a Christmas song for me, this is the one. Mostly because he doesn't know a lot of other Christmas songs, because he grew up in Jordan.
8. Go Tell it on the Mountain: Until this week, I am serious, I had no idea this was considered a Christmas song. I always thought it was an old hymn. But I listened to the lyrics, and lo, it very well does tell the Christmas message. I love this song because it reminds me of being in my former country church... and there's something still so comforting about that. Plus, it tells the true meaning of Christmas-- Jesus.
9. Frosty the Snowman: This song is simply reminder of the old TV movie that they play every Christmas. It's a classic, and even if I do grow older, I will watch it every, single year.
10. I'll Be Home for Christmas: I'm honestly not sure why I love this song so much, to be honest. I guess I just grew up with it, and every time I hear it, I have to sing it. That and because it sounds so good coming from the old crooners. (I guess I am sometimes an oldie at heart.)
There you have it... my top ten favorite Christmas songs. I'm sure some of those make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Post a CommentSometimes I wonder about Greensleeves...because it's not really a Christmas song but it's always played at Christmas! (Your comment on Go Tell it on the Mountain reminded me of that). Anyway, great article!
