My Top Ten Things I Am Most Thankful For

Not Just on Thanksgiving but Everyday of the Year

Thanksgiving is not just a day for turkey and dressing and gravy. It is a day to be thankful for everything that has been bestowed upon us. I, myself, have numerous things to be thankful for. Here are my top ten.
  1. I am thankful for my Lord and Savior who gives me all the reasons to be thankful. God is the one who has provided everyone and everything good in my life. He has provided for all of my needs and even some of my (selfish little) wants. Thank you, God!
  2. I am thankful for my family. I have the most wonderful of all husbands and the most awesome five year old son. Now considering that I used to think I would never meet "Mr. Right", my husband is one person I am so thankful for. Then I was told that I would never be able to have children. But then, to our surprise, along came the most precious awesome wonderful amazing gift that God could ever provide anyone with. My five year old son is the light of my life and the twinkle in my eye.
  3. I am thankful that we have a roof over our head. With today's economy just to be able to say that is reason to give thanks and give thanks and give thanks. We have a good home and wonderful neighbors and our neighborhood is a fairly quiet one.
  4. I am thankful that we have food to eat. This is another thing that is wonderful to be able to be thankful for. It seems that every day we hear of children and adults who are going hungry even here in the United States.
  5. Now my husband and I are not in perfect health, but we are healthy enough to get up and go. Our little boy may have asthma, but he is in perfect health otherwise. This is a marvelous and wonderful reason to be thankful considering all of those who are disabled or handicapped.
  6. I am thankful that our county has some very good schools for my son to attend. This makes me extremely thankful that I can know he is taken care of when I cannot be with him while he is at school. He also has a wonderful teacher who really seems to care. This being his first year of school this I am absolutely grateful for.
  7. I am thankful to live in a country where we have the freedom that we do. Looking at other countries makes me realize that life in the United States is a life to give thanks for. Sometimes it seems that the government wants to take over everything and tell us when and where to do and not do things. But if you really take a look at some other countries, we have it made.
  8. I am one who is thankful for the changing seasons. I may be a little crazy, but my favorite time of the year is fall and winter. Fall because of its beauty. But I like winter the most because it is so still and quiet and peaceful. When it snows and everything seems to just stand still, it is the most amazing "sound" around. Plus in the winter you can see things for what they are underneath their outer beauty.
  9. I am thankful that I have the ability to write and truly enjoy it. I am also thankful for places like Associated Content where I can share my thoughts and feelings with other wonderful writers.
  10. Last but no where near least is that I am so thankful for each and every day that the Lord lets me wake up to see the beauty He has created. I am thankful that there are never two days alike. Each day brings its own joys, sorrows, happiness, and sadness. I am even thankful that there are difficult times come into my life. This way it makes me even more thankful for all I do have.

Therefore, look around you. There are hundreds of things to be thankful for. Start with being thankful to and for the Lord Jesus, and everything else will fall into place.
