My Top New Year's Resolution - Creating a Job Rather Than Looking (Endlessly) for One

Valerie Mills
If you are like me, you have been looking for a job for a LONG time. My top New Year's resolution is to stop looking and start over with a new perspective.

Know what? I ran out of reasons for failure to find a job: fierce competition, age discrimination, overqualified, under qualified, yada, yada, yada.

Forget looking for a job. Stop hoping that some company's HR person will notice your resume among the other three thousand applicants. Create a job for yourself.

My top new year's resolution is as follows: earn an income of $500 per week from affiliate products without investing any money. That's right - without investing any money except for the plan (less than $50) to create marketing programs. After that, no money will be spent. The only investment is time.

Accomplishing this goal is the job I created for myself.

Is It Possible?

Earning an online income without investing money has been accomplished. My top new year's resolution is achievable. But like all things Internet, there are no guarantees, even with the best marketing plans.

A Web Site Is Not Required

Here's one of the reasons I won't need to invest any money - there are free places to build an Internet tool like a web site.

In particular, squidoo lenses, although more restrictive than actual sites, allow functionality similar to web sites. And remember, squidoo is FREE.

Good Writing Is Mandatory

Writing easy-to-read and understandable articles, blog posts, and squidoo lenses (or something similar) is required.

Fear of Scams

You can't help wonder why thousands of people claim to have made millions on the Internet. I did pick and choose what gurus I paid attention to. I stayed away from "work at home" programs because so many are bogus.

Wish me lots of luck in my new job!
