My Trip to Phuket - A Thailand Island

I just got back from my short vacation to Thailand. I went to Phuket, an Island situated south of Bangkok, the capitol of Thailand. Phuket is also known as Pearl of Andaman. It is nestle by sea of Andaman.

Phuket is famous for its limestone cliffs, sandy white beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical forests.

A trip to Phuket will not be complete without visiting Phang-nga and Phi Phi island.

Phi Phi island is located at the western of Andaman Sea coast of the mainland. Phi Phi Don is the larger island, while Phi Phi Leh is the smaller island. Phi Phi Leh is famous for being the island backdrop for the movie The Beach. The underwater life near the Phi Phi Leh island is very beautiful and unique. You can see fish and underwater life all around when you are snorkeling around the island.

Phang-nga, situated at the northern province of Phuket. Phang-nga is known of the James Bond Island which is a needle formed of limestone rock in the middle of the sea. Phang-nga bay will be a place where you can explore the nature and beauty of the nature touring by kayaks.

For those who plan to visit Phuket, you can either choose from the period of November to February where you can enjoy the clear blue sky, fresh breeze sea air and crystal clear water. But if you are on a tight budget for your trip to Thailand, you can choose to visit Phuket during the period of August to October where this is the wettest month of Phuket and rainy days are frequent.

The most hectic and crowded beach of Phuket is the Patong beach where it is your paradise for every sort of fun where all the hotels, pubs, shopping complex is located at Patong Beach. If you wish to enjoy the night life, night market and take pleasure in the bustling with peoples and activity then Patong beach will be suitable for you.

Contrary, if you wish for a quite and peaceful corner to enjoy the pleasure from your dreamy holiday retreat then Kata or Karon beach will be suitable for you. Staying in Kata or Karon beach also offer cheaper food and accommodation due to the less tourist.

For the first time visitors to Phuket island, I would suggest you to stay at Patong beach as it is more convenient place where all the food, market and night life is nearby the area. If you choose to stay at Kata, Karon or Surin beach you might need to consider for motorbike rental where you can move freely in the island.
