The first week of the contest, I was eager to see how it would pan out. Typing in a link to the blog for AC, the inserted code number was entered and saved. The very next item on the agenda was to link back to an article, which seemed to work just fine. A good friend chatted with me the next day to find out what was going on. She didn't understand because she must have made up her mind to tune internet work out. She still doesn't get it.
During that week it seemed to take a few days before anyone new began to follow at Twitter. There were maybe three people in all who signed up. Because there is more I do other than writing, it wasn't until I began writing again that things began to pick up.
The second week seemed a little more promising with maybe five more people. I did not think to keep track of all who began to follow me from Twitter until the third week. That made me more attentive at keeping track with a file on my computer. The fun in linking back to AC came when unsuspecting people began to make comments on my article. This is when I knew that the contest was paying of in more ways than one.
During the third week of the contest it seemed to pick up even more for me than all four combined. Hopefully the number of Twitter visitors will increase before the end of this week, too. On September 20th Jennifer Walker, AC Luke, Matthew Shively and Pinching Abe began to follow me. They were followed up by John Carlisle, Kent Davis and Laura Quintile on the first of October. The next day, Dea Reyes signed up to follow with Jennifer Moore following the very next day. That is a total of nine followers in a week.
The fourth week - this one - advtsmakemoney and AnabelStein started following on the fourth. Monday, Sonic Drive-In started following only because over a month ago I started following them. Then on the fifth Charity Rent showed up in my email showing that she, too, is a follower. Finally on the sixth, NetbookNerd and Kent Davis were the last two to begin following me at Twitter.
Although the contest is still eight days out from finishing, I am eager to find out who wins. Sure it would be nice if I win the notebook because I sure could use it when I am at work on my lunchtime. It would also help in getting away from my desk at home. Still, I hope whoever wins it will be just as ecstatic as I would be.

Post a CommentI hope you win! I've used Twitter on and off, and I didn't have great results. People have to be willing to retweet your postings, and most were only interested in tweeting their own. Very few followers seemed to be active. Oh well. What works for some doesn't work for others.
Congratulations on your twitte results.
Good to know. I have yet to sign up for Twitter. Sounds like I need to make it a priority.
