As if language wasn't difficult enough Twitter had to go and start its own language. Or perhaps it wasn't Twitter at all but rather the people who are engaged in being part of Twitter. Whatever the case, the existence of a Twitter Dictionary was needed to that tweeple would become familiar with the language in Twitterville.
I like the fact that this tool does not require your Twitter login information. Many 3rd party apps seek that information; sadly it is not always a good idea to provide your credentials to all who ask.
The Twittonary also allows you to vote on the definitions provided for keywords.
Therefore, looking items up with this tool helps you understand what someone is saying within their tweet.
I also like being able to submit my own word to the Twitter Dictionary, which comes with a link to your web offerings and much more too. I'll have to send them words like:
* Twouble
* Twitastic
* Twitteriffic
I love Twitter, and now I'll know one way to lookup keywords within a post that have largely been ignored prior to it.
Who says Twitter can't be fun? With the right tools and concepts in hand it can be a blast.
* Participate
* Engage
* Inform
* Glean
People will see you doing these type of activities and you'll get far less spam about someone's double deluxe tuna salad sandwich they are eating and far more extremely valuable genuine content to add to your tweet stream.
Especially if you use tools like TweetDeck, Twitter Grader, Twitter Karma and of course the list goes on. If Twitter were left to its own devices without third party applications it would fail quite quickly. Fortunately that is not the case, and that is an advantage that you can take to the bank when you find the right tools to do so with.
Truth is Twitter is one social network that most teenagers shy away from? However, if your focus is helping someone to build something then Twitter is a tool you don't want to be without. Especially since it can be used absolutely free to draw a large amount of followers to what it is that you are doing. That's why I love my Twittionary and why I believe you ought to check out the possibilities.
