My Two Cents
All opinions are welcome;
In a society that is free;
Lately though it seems;
That it is true for some;
Yet not for all;
People can get heated;
Of that, I have been guilty too;
But as long as no one is threatened;
It's the American thing to do;
Some are not happy with discussions;
When they are on the losing end;
They resort to name-calling;
And personal attacks;
Egos are bruised;
Feelings are hurt;
And it can even be frightening;
If it goes too far;
In the end, we all pay;
No one can open a discussion;
If there is only one opinion heard;
Controversy can get ugly;
It is not for the faint of heart;
Or for thin-skinned poets

Your right of course but the opinions are like your back side. We all have them and some are not as welcome to hear or see as others are, unfortunately. Try talking politics or religion and you really run into trouble with opinions. Oh well, we are all only human I guess! Great poem though!
This is as nicely constructed as stated! It's this line, "But as long as no one is threatened;" that is the crux of the matter.
What a sad commentary it is, when adults act like bickering children, and expect it to be accepted...It's a shame that some people feel that
another person isn't entitled to a different opinion....... It takes all kinds, to make a world! +*+*+* ~ peace ~ I hope......
