Mark Twain
"I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine."
Songs of Songs 6:3a
Though princes may harm me,
In self-centered pride,
My Loved One will arm me
Around every side.
In sweet, tender kindness,
With promise of love,
You banish my blindness
With sight from above.
For You are the One,
Ever Faithful and True.
When my heart comes undone,
Then my soul clings to You.
Then why weep I so?
And why should I fear?
In the cruel undertow,
You alone are most dear.
I would much rather greet
Folks who enter Your door
Than live incomplete
In my own tug-of-war.
Let me lay down my days
For a moment to last,
To follow Your ways
And let go of my past.
May I follow forever
Wherever you go;
Make my every endeavor
Your glory to show.

This is one of the best things I've ever read. :) 5 stars.
the best ever
"I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine." Such a beautiful book-and so full of meaning-most people either don't understand it at all or just take it to be about physical love between a man and a woman-it is wonderfully illustrative of that-but even much more illustrative of Christ's love for us-which your beautiful poem also illustrates.
A very lovely poetic prayer! :-)
This is so beautiful!
Seek and you shall find. As the willow bends so most our lives never to be broken, we Will survive. Good job Girl. Ken
Amen! This is wonderful!
