My Veiled Sisters

As I watch them hide in their veils of purity,
I wonder if they are dead inside.
They are raised at birth to serve his majesty,
the man, whose rules by which they abide.
Do you truly believe a god,
would condone such degrading acts?
Was this all a story to calm the children?
Have you confused the facts?
To help protect our present,
we must preserve the past.
But when we confuse stories with morals,
our children suffer from its wrath.
I don't believe a God would favor
one animal over another.
A God who is so merciful,
would not prefer your father over your mother.
