When the Motorola RAZR was introduced into the market in 2004, it caused an uproar among phone enthusiasts and the everyday consumer. Even with tits daunting price tag, people rushed to the store to buy it. However, since it came out and the years have passed, people have formed mixed opinions regarding the phone. While some people still like it, a sizeable amount of people have come to hate the original RAZR. I however have truly appreciated the RAZR since I first bought it.
The RAZR offers all the features of a regular phone including a video camera, Bluetooth technology, and much more. Nevertheless, the RAZR became one of the hottest products around. There was one distinguishing feature that separated it from all other phones: its sleek look. The RAZR boasted a unique razor thin body that was easily identifiable. When it first came out, people would always ask, "Wow, is that the new RAZR phone? It looks so cool!" Although it is true that it is getting older, it still has much of its original zest which made it so popular.
That is not to say that the popular phone does not have its flaws. One annoying aspect of the phone is the lag that users experience when they open their phone, or receive more than one incoming text at a time. There is a short delay before anything appears on the screen each time you open it. In addition, while the ringtone volume on the phone can get quite high, it isn't very clear at all. I have also suffered my fair share of problems with the phone. After only several months of owning the RAZR, the front panel display broke suddenly one day when I took it out of my pocket at the movie theatre. I also suffered from a weird problem when I wasn't able to hear people when they called me. When I asked both Cingular and Motorola for help, they told me that the speakers had blown out and that I would need to purchase a new phone. However, after a couple days of stubborn waiting, the problem miraculously corrected itself.
So how come with all these problems, I still love my RAZR? The sleek, lightweight design of the phone is probably the primary reason. Furthermore, the extensive modding ability of this phone makes it a great buy. With a little effort, you can connect the phone to your computer, and make many changes ranging from a new font, to an entirely new template with custom icons. This phone has provided me with spectacular service, and aside from a few flaws is a great purchase. You can be sure that when my two-year contract ends, I will be ready to buy an updated RAZR.
