My Vow - a Wedding Love Poem

In this moment
standing here with you
everything seems so perfect
as I look into your eyes believing
we will be together forever

But I know this moment of perfection
is just the beginning of what lies ahead
as we get beyond our spoken promises
and the celebration of our union

Life will take us on a journey
filled with moments of great joy
and times of terrible heartache
there will be years of ease
and those of much difficulty

We cannot know what is to come
nor how hard or easy it will be
all I can do is promise you
that I will forever be by your side
no matter how many ups and downs
or what the outcome of each may be

To me this day is a commitment
to love you each and every day
to enjoy the good times with you
and be your comfort in heartache
to be the arms that hold you
and the lips that kiss your face
to always be by your side
loving, supporting, and caring
I will never leave
