My Wife's New Tablet Computer

Jesse Schmitt
While the time for new technology seems ever present in our day to day, the fact is we all need to buy new technology. My last purchase; a new laptop; happened kind of suddenly when my then 2.5 year old laptop stopped getting charges from my battery pack. My wife's laptop also bit the dust but buying her a new model wasn't such an urgent mission as her needs were far less regular than mine. Regardless the time is soon and I have decided on getting her an Apple iPad 2.

Product Selection: What my wife uses her device for is a little different than me. My brother works for Apple and he'd suggested the iPad when he heard that my wife's PC had bit the dust. Her Compaq laptop was less than two years old and the fact that the thing just didn't turn on anymore mere days before my laptop had to be replaced was maddening. My wife uses the DVD drive for her exercise videos which the iPad does not have. However my brother told us the Apple iPad 2 comes with iCloud technologies; meaning she can upload her videos online and use her iPad 2 to work out wherever she wishes. It's something that's a little over our heads right now but my brother assured me that once we learned this trick, it would be something very easy to repeat. The new iPad 2 also has many items which my wife finds favorable. The Apple film editing software which she has sampled at length with my brother is far better than her previous PC experience. The Apple iPad 2 has a dual-core A5 chip and an impressive 10 hour battery life.

Aesthetics: My wife is a slight young lady. She's five feet tall and doesn't like to be encumbered by too much weighing her down. The Apple iPad 2 weighing in at 1.33 pounds and just .34 inch thin makes for a great grab and go companion.

Price: Here's the kicker; the price of this iPad 2 is far less than most other PC laptops. The Apple iPad 2 also costs far less than MacBook portable computer products from Apple.

Touchscreen: For someone like me who does a great deal of work on the keys, touchscreen computing could be frustrating. However for my wife that's not so much of a big deal. She has sampled the iPad 2's touchscreen and she has found it to be very accommodating. At the very worst if she needed to type something at great length she could always use my keyboard PC.

Conclusion: For all that the iPad 2 comes with, the powerful processor, iCloud computing, all the variety of apps available for download, and a price that's better than most others, the Apple iPad 2 looks to be an easy transition for my wife from the PC to Apple. Saving up for the Apple iPad 2 with it's $499 price is something which can be accomplished with only a little bit of squirreling away for a couple of weeks.

Anyway - check out Tiger Direct.
You can search them on the Web. Maybe because I entered the website, Yahoo thought I was a spammer!
My nephew saved $$$$$ on his iPod. My husband buys computer stuff from them all the time. You can even purchase "refurbished" stuff (and we have and it is fine) and save even more money.
    Good luck, cheers :)
