My Wish for You

Elizabeth McGill
My wish for you is the endurance and hardiness of the cypress tree,

to withstand life's troubled waters.

I wish for you the softness of the new fallen snow's fragility,

as to not tread on the hearts of others.

I wish for you the moonlight's glow of tranquility,

as to be serene with words, soft spoken and subtle.

My wish for you, is to take the breath of winds that know no boundaries,

to soar your highest with knowledge, and in life, to go further.

I wish for you the noble mountain's strength and stability,

to be a loyal, strong and faithful follower.

My wish for you is the cleansing rain's properties,

to know tears of joy, share pain, and know sorrow.

I wish for you to harvest Mother Nature's neutering abilities,

as to raise tenderly, your children of tomorrow.

My wish for you is to hold dear these gems from Earth's treasuries,

as to past them down to your own sons and daughters.

I wish for you the undying, unshakable belief in your Lord spiritually,

that you may stand in the presence of your Holy Father,

and receive his most precious gift of all eternity.

I sometimes wonder if the Lord created us with this prayer in mind.
