Geoffrey always was an impatient child but that was no surprise due to his early arrival on this earth. He also has has been a great joy and a source of concern in my life.
Not only being the youngest son, but also the middle child, Geoffrey has been, as he says, "stuck in the middle" for a lifetime. He doesn't consider it a bad thing since he gets to have a big brother and be a big brother.
Let me tell you a little more about my youngest son.
As a small child he ate bugs and caterpillars and fell off the roof and broke his arm. We spent a bit of time at the emergency room. He took the training wheels off his bike as soon as he got it outside and taught himself how to ride that Christmas morning. Of course he needed stitches over his left eye that day since he took a head dive onto the pavement several times before getting the hang of riding his " two wheeler".
When he got a little older Geoffrey loved body surfing and basket ball.( still does as a matter of fact.) Watching speed racer was an everyday activity. I say activity because he always had to jump up and act out whatever was happening with Speed racer. Oh, and of course he knew the theme song by heart and sang it quite loudly.
As a teenager he put a blond streak in his hair and the skateboard was his favorite mode of transportation. Geoff was into break dancing and along with his older brother did it professionally for awhile. He liked school and all his friends called him smiley because that's what he always had on his face, a big broad smile. Geoffrey got an after school job at a convenience store and used his income from stocking shelves to run a tab for candies and snacks for him and his friends. I don't recall him ever having an actual pay check from that job.
After high school Geoffrey decided it was taking to long for him to get his adult life going.( Remember he always was impatient). He opted out of college and started his own little business painting houses. he was only 17. After many years of hard work and stubborn tenacity, Geoffrey learned to be patient and is now a successful contractor in the Los Angeles area. He and his beautiful wife and three children are living comfortably in a lovely suburb of L.A.and are very active in their community and church. Oh by the way , did I mention that Geoffrey's youngest son likes to eat bugs and sneaks up on the roof? He's already had a few visits to the emergency room. What is it about those youngest son's any way?
