The very minute you step out of your car and gaze up at the building you instantly know you are in for a real treat. For those who are handicapped there are ramps. But the most important thing you notice right off is the 1930's facade on the building. All the buildings look like they are from this era.
You enter through the door to the gift shop. It has true old fashioned wood floors. A saloon type bar makes up the gift shop counter, very unique. Stroll past gifts of every type going back towards the back of the shop. Here you will find a nice little surprise. It is what I call the "Restrooms Museum". There are 9 restrooms that have been decorated in different ways. Quite a surprise when first seen. My favorite is the one decorated to look like an old outhouse complete with the corncobs.
Right next door to this is a 1950's dinner and old fashioned soda shop. Stop in here early before the show and have a nice old fashioned soda. Enjoy the decorations complete with a 1950's jukebox and wall decorations from the 1950's.
If looking for a place to stay after the show, around the corner is an old fashioned Victorian Inn.
At the Myers Theater salad, rolls and beverages are served up family style. Then you go to the buffet to get your food. It is a all you can eat buffet. Portions are served up by you. Be sure to grab one of their great desserts as you go by. Everything is made from scratch. No box stuff here.
Prayer is a nice touch said before the meals.
We just finished seeing "A Dickens of a Christmas". The cast was as usual suburb. They line up after the show and shake hands with you on the way out and speak with you. Don't see this very often at dinner shows. This is a very intimate place. Warm hugs as you leave by the owner.
I highly recommend you go here not only to celebrate but just because you want a nice quit intimate night out.
