MyLot: Get Paid to Post, but Is It Worth Your Time?

Should You Join the Growing MyLot Community?

Jennifer Foote
If you are looking for ways to make money, there is a good chance that you have heard of MyLot before. MyLot is an online community where community members can earn money for their posts. Thousands of internet users have joined MyLot, many of which give it glowing reviews. If you are interested in joining MyLot, you may be wondering whether or not it is worth your time. In all honesty, it depends.

As previously mentioned, MyLot is an online community. In a way, it also acts a message board and a social networking website. MyLot community members can post pictures, ask questions, or respond to topics, all on a wide variety of different subjects. Granted, there are some postings that may not be worth your time, such as the ones that ask what your favorite color is, but others are actually interesting. In fact, that is one of the reasons why I decided to give MyLot a try.

When participating in MyLot, I responded to a total of one hundred and ten posts. I also posted two pictures. The amount of money in my account stands at $1.59. Now, to me the money doesn't necessarily seem worth my time, but I didn't invest a large amount of time into making money. It has been said that there are ways that you can make more money. These ways involve starting your own discussions, rating MyLot community members, and posting pictures along with your messages, and so forth. By taking these approaches, you may be able to make more money than I did, even with the same number of posts.

What you need to decide, when determining whether or not MyLot is worth your time, is how much time you have to spare. Personally, it took me about three hours to make my $1.59. Instead of responding to every single message posted on the MyLot site, I searched for discussions that peaked by interested and then joined in. This is where the time consuming part came in. As a stay at home mom during the day and a freelance writer at night, I find that I do not have a large amount of time to invest in MyLot, even though I can make money doing so. In all honesty, I feel it is easier to write an article for Associated Content. I can make more money in less than half of the time.

The decision as to whether or not you want to join the MyLot community is completely up to you. You may want to do what I did and experiment with the website to see how it goes. You are under no obligation to stay an active member. If your sole purpose of joining the MyLot community is to make money, I advise that you continue searching. In the meantime, participating in discussions to make money is a great way to generate spending money until you find a more stable at home opportunity.

Thanks for the info. I am a member at mylot, and I like it, but I am not there for the money. I am there because I have friends, and I like the discussion board. The few cents is just an extra.

If you really want to make some money, (and this is a paid to click, not post, but its great, because it has 100% refferral earnings and pays well. http://adbux.org/?r=sq202

Try it out. And thanks again for the great article.

I am a member of mylot and the pay is definately NOT worth the time you spend, however, if you are the kind of person, like me, who would do it anyway for free, it is definately worth it because instead of doing it on yahoo answers for free, now about every two months I get an extra fifteen bucks or so, and that is enough to make one of my credit card payments!

I haven't been to MyLot in a while, as I have been really busy, but I have decided that I kind of like it now. I wouldn't necessarily use it as a way to make money, at least through the website, but like Donna mentioned below, it is a good way to promote content and stuff. I added my website to my profile and try and mention it whenever it is applicable.

I originally went there to promote content. It may be worthwhile if you're a regular.

Although I think it is a waste of time, if you are trying to make money. I have to admit that it is kind of fun to talk to other or participate in interesting discussions.
