MySpace Begins to Change Gears to Regain Popularity

MySpace used to be the number one social networking site. That was before FaceBook came along and stole a huge portion of MySpace users. It is still unclear exactly what caused the change for so many people since FaceBook was really much less secure and remains so even today. In any case, MySpace began it's decline sometime ago and has not been able to regain it's footing ever since. The powers that be at MySpace haven't give up just yet though. They have a plan in the works to stop fighting the social networking war and to begin focusing on something completely different.

MySpace is going to be rolling out a brand new face of their own soon. They will concentrate more on social gaming rather than social networking. This gives them an edge over the competitor because they will no longer be a place for all people to gather but a place for the gamers to go to enjoy all of their favorite games in one place. It's a great idea, we just now have to see if this will save the drowning network from becoming extinct just like so many other website have done in the past.

It isn't just the gaming that MySpace will focus on but music and other media forms will also take precedence as MySpace tries to regain some of it's popularity. Many people think that MySpace can't get back what it has lost and is doomed to go the way of other sites like GeoCities that is not defunct. The original popularity of that site was overwhelming. It didn't change enough with the times though and people drifted away for a better way to post information about themselves. That is much like what is happening with MySpace currently and it could be only a matter of time before it ends.

There is a possibility that MySpace could make a comeback. MySpace is definitely changing gears and shifting to a much different standard. It could win this fight if the powers that be concentrate on what they really need to concentrate on. They need to consider the audience and where it has been as opposed to where it needs to go. One of the things that it might also want to consider is how they advertise themselves. Advertising is one of the main ways that people hear about changes in products and MySpace, for all intents and purposes is a product that the company is trying to sell. Can it win? It depends on how focused MySpace heads are on the actual customer they are trying to reach.

FaceBook has been one of the number one social networking sites for a long time now. It is interesting to see how quickly it took off with the millions of MySpace users that learned of the new FaceBook and dropped MySpace like a hot potato. There are great things about MySpace and honestly, many people only left MySpace for FaceBook because they didn't have anyone left to talk to on the site. All of their friends jumped ship and swam right over to FaceBook to do what they wanted to do most and that is to connect with their friends and family.

Can MySpace make a comeback? Anything is possible. They may need to revamp it completely, including the name of the site in order to bring it back to what it once was. The name is now associated with the site that lost most of it's users to another site. It might be best to completely change the name in order to better suit what they will be all about when all the changes are made. The fate of MySpace remains yet to be seen. It can comeback if it puts enough effort and ingenuity into how the redesign goes. If they roll the new site out after it is completed, they will have a much better chance at success than if they roll out a new design before it is ready for the user. If it is a failed roll out, they will surely lose in the end.
