MESSAGES AND COMMENTS:
-
I leave my profile up most of the day. This does not always mean I am actively refreshing my page. In fact, most of the time I'm not even anywhere near my computer and sometimes I've actually left the house! Please do not panic if I am not instanteous in a response to you when it says I am "online."
-
There are also instances where I have a limited amount of time on the computer. If I read your message but don't respond, it's going to be okay! All that means is that was in a hurry and I eventually will respond to all messages.
-
Don't ask me to leave you comments or picture comments. I know everybody sends out bulletins that say things along the lines of "new pictures in the 'me' album, comments appreciated" and that's fine and I do it too. But please don't waste time on my page asking me to do that. It's really annoying.
-
Despite what I said above, I am very good at giving people a generous amount of all types of comments....but sometimes it takes me awhile to accomplish that. And I'll always return the favor if you give me a comment just because I think it's polite. If you take the time out of your day to say something about me then I will certainly do the same for you.
MY BULLETINS:
-
I sent out multiple bulletins a day. Most of them are not even remotely important and I'm guilty of doing a lot of surveys. Yet I always title my surveys with a letter ["a" "g" c" etc.] so if surveys aren't your thing then you can just skip right over those. Also I try and make a very good point of letting my subject lines be indicative as to what the content of the bulletin is. I would like to think that some of my bulletins have substance, cause laughter, or make people think....so I'm not about to stop posting them. Like I said earlier, you always have the option not to read them.
-
One of my worst habits is talking a little too much on said bulletins, especially if I am angry or there's alcohol being consumed. I always delete these promptly and apologize in advance for anyone who may get offended by these. I'm an open book though-- I don't say anything on MySpace that I wouldn't say to a person's face-- so don't expect me to censor myself on the internet. However, if I have said something that truly bothers you, let me know and I'll make sure it disappears.
-
This is particularly embarrassing to write because I really feel sorry for anyone who is too stupid to understand this concept. Let's say I mention in a bulletin that I'm sitting around smoking crack and having an orgy. I am not actually smoking crack and having an orgy, imagine that! Have you ever heard of sarcasm or is your pea-sized brain just too inepet to comprehend it? I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I get messages asking if I actually did whatever debaucherous deed I mentioned as a joke.
YOUR BULLETINS:
-
Can we eliminate those idiotic "you will die if you don't forward this" bulletins? I've never forwarded one and I'm not dead yet.
-
God/Jesus/Allah/Budda/Satan does not care if you forward a bulletin on MySpace saying you love him/her/it. And if you think your deity does care then you should probably look into changing religions.
WHO I ADD:
-
I accept virtually every musician/band that sends me an add request. It doesn't matter if I like their music or not and in all honesty, I haven't even heard some of their music. But I have a lot of respect for people who are trying to put themselves out there and have a dedication to all things creative. So even if you suck, I'll add your group. Not to say that all music on my page is crappy-- it definitely isn't-- though you get the idea.
-
I'll also add people I don't know and let strangers add me as well. Yet I always appreciate it when I am sent a message from somebody explaining why they wanted to add me. It just seems more personal and I don't want to help somebody on their quest for 392432049240234 friends without ever saying a word to them. The only situations I'll do this is after looking at their profile and determining that they aren't a total douchebag and seem like a person I'd really like to talk to. I'm willing to give almost anyone a chance and I think it's fun hearing new stories. Plus you never know when these networking connections can benefit you.
-
There are also times where I go through and do a mass delete. You are a candidate for a mass delete if you have never talked to me, send dozens of obnoxious bulletins each day, or just annoy me for whatever reason.
TALKING TO MY FRIENDS:
-
If you don't know me very well, don't act like you do. I hate getting messages from my friends saying that "so and so" really bothered them and I barely even know who "so and so" is.
-
My friends are amazing and I'm always glad to introduce them to other friends. But if you are going to talk with my friends, please remember that your communications with them reflect me. Don't message them constantly and don't make them uncomfortable. It makes me look bad and I hate having to diffuse a situation that doesn't directly involve me.
-
If you message one of my lady friends, please don't start out with something along the lines of "you're hot." That really disappoints me. If you can't think of an opening line for a woman that doesn't involve her looks then you probably don't need to be talking to females.
ADDING MY EXES, PARTICULARLY THE EX-HUSBAND:
-
I don't care if you add my exes. Only two of them have MySpace and you are more than welcome to add them. If you want to ruin your life with a meth addiction or score some drugs, add Bennie. If you want to speak with the dumbest person I've ever met and who loves having sex with underage girls, add Joel. Some of my friends are mutual friends with them and I think it's funny more than anything else.
-
As for Will, that's a slightly different story. There is only one person I know other than his family who has added him and she's not close with me. Nobody who is a true friend to me has added him and with good reason. He did not treat me with respect and lives recklessly without thinking of the consequences of his actions. He does not support his son financially and rarely sees him. He has taken so much from my family and me, yet never gave anything back or even said thank you. His behavior sickens me. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you should know this. And I find it very insulting that people who claim to be my friend would want anything to do with him knowing that we are going through a horrible divorce and the way that he is been treating me.
MY TOP FRIENDS LIST:
-
If you are on it, it means I like you. Other than my #1, it's in no order. Don't complain. You should be lucky you are even on my list.
