MySpace Jimmy Buffett Themes and Page Idea Resources

Julie Boehlke
If you love two things, MySpace and Jimmy Buffett. Well I am sure that finding a MySpace theme that you can express your love for this famous Parrot Head is something you have been looking for.

The whole "Jimmy Buffett" persona does not apply to the average MySpacer, only if you are over 30, you love eating cheeseburgers in paradise, you are a bona-fide beach bum who loves to sip Margaritas, or if you just plain love Jimmy and his music. I, myself am all of the above.

I fell in love with Jimmy when I vacationed in the Keys a few years ago. Jimmy's presence is instilled and engrained into almost every aspect of the Florida Keys, from the gorgeous hot beaches, to the crowded and hoppin' bars, to the endless shopping and sight seeing available in and around the area.

Intrigued yet? If you really want to get in tune to what an online state of mind is all about simply visit Margaritaville to learn more about the ever famous Musician who started it all!

Over the years, I have had a few different Jimmy Buffett themes and backgrounds for my MySpace pertaining to Jimmy and the Parrothead lifestyle. When I searched for HTML codes to change the look of my MySpace page, some of my search queries I used were, of course; Jimmy Buffett, Beach, Parrot Head, Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are not as many results as you would think that actually come up in the search engines. Some themes are more "Buffettized" than others, while some are simply the traditional background of the sand and beach with a few "Buffettisms" thrown into the mix.

Here are just a few places to find some really hot themes and add on's for your MySpace with Mr. Buffett in mind:

Jimmy Buffett MySpace Background and Themes-

Cool Chasers offer the most variety of different backgrounds to choose from. Click here to check them all out.

With everything from old and new pictures of Jimmy, to his famous Hemisphere Dancer Airplane. This is the hottest source on the web for finding good Jimmy Buffett themed backgrounds.

There are some themes that are done with animated backgrounds and fonts and then there are some that are actual pictures and real life stills. One of the most popular themes on the page is the Clear theme by Christa. This background is a picture of Jimmy himself as pictured on his greatest hits CD; Meet me in Margaritaville.

Cool Chaser allows you to personalize your MySpace by entering in your MySpace username directly onto their site, they sign you in and add the theme to your page for you. Very simple and anyone can do it.

Jimmy Buffett Videos and Music-

If you want to add a little of Jimmy's music to your page you can add the video of Jimmy singing "Trip around the Sun" directly to the front page of your MySpace so you can share with others. Just add this HTML code to your about me section. Be sure to scroll down and add the code to the very bottom of the section, this will assure you will not disrupt the other codes embedded on your page, if the codes are distorted or out of place, your page will not function properly.

For many of the classic, vintage Jimmy Buffett tunes, you can find them here. Take your MySpace visitors back in time with these old school "perpetual motion" videos. Once you arrive at the site and choose the song you like, simply highlight the code that is in the box, hit control "C"on your keyboard to copy the code, then proceed to log into your MySpace page and edit your profile. Once on the edit profile screen, in the interests or music section, proceed to add the code by cliciking control "V". Make sure you save all of your entries. You then should have a video ready for others to listen to on your MySpace page.

If you simply want to add music and not video to your page, visit Jimmy Buffett's official MySpace page and add your favorite tune from his media player at the top of the page. Be sure you are signed in to do this first. Simply click "add" underneath the song and it will take you through the prompts. Very Simple.

Adding Jimmy Buffet Themed Icons and Photos-

While the HTML version codes can be very hard to locate on the internet, there is a trick to placing different icons and pictures of Jimmy and other Parrothead memorabilia on your MySpace page. The safest way to do it is to open up a free photo bucket account. Here you can manage all of the photos you may find while searching the web or photos of Key West and Jimmy that you may have taken yourself. This keeps all of your Buffett themed favorites in one place. Be very careful with copyright infringement and laws, if you are unsure, don't be afraid to ask, but if you are able to post free pictures always make sure you give credit where credit is due.

There are many ways you can find an array of cool photos, graphics and "Jimmy stamps" such as Conch Republic, Sloppy Joes Bar, Margaritaville, and "Five O'Clock Somewhere" Signs and Icons. All you need to do is to search Google for cool icons and pictures for your page. Simply use the following popular search tags: Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville, "Five O' Clock Somewhere" and Parrothead.

After you have located and downloaded the photos you want. You can then add them under the "who I'd like to meet" section under edit your profile. If you want to add a cool looking twist to your photos, you can turn them into a rotating cube that will put a cutting edge twist on the look of your page, check out mycodesplace to get the HTML code for your pics.

Remember none of these designs have to be permanent, you can always change them at anytime, or mix and match until you achieve the look you are after.

These are just a few ways you can bring the fun and atmosphere of Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett to your MySpace page. The only thing missing is your lost shaker of salt, but I highly doubt you will ever find that.

Jimmy Buffet was the epitome of island deployment insanity I had in Diego Garcia. Perhaps I will open up a myspace account and reconnect with old friends from there with that theme.

How awesome would it be to have a JB myspace lay-out! I think you should write an article listing your ten favorite Buffett songs, too. Love the photo, it's almost like he's singing along!
