MySpace for Marketing Your Business

Ryanick Paige
Using MySpace to market your business is an effective marketing tool. With over 100 million members and monthly page views in the billions, MySpace is the fastest growing and widely searched, member driven website. Many businesses use the hottest social networking community grow their business, why shouldn't you?

When using MySpace to market your business there are a few things you should remember. Make a plan for using your MySpace page to promote your business. The first impression is everything when it comes to viral marketing. If you promote an incomplete or poorly designed profile pages chances are viewers will not return, much less purchase your product or services.

Choose layouts, graphics, and fonts that are easy on the eyes, yet will grab your attention. When a MySpace page is filled with a dark layout and splashy graphics, it is hard to read and find useful information. Blue and gray hues produce a calming affect that people are naturally drawn too. These colors are also considered more professional than others are.

Before promoting your business on MySpace, research to find out what is allowed and what is not allowed. Spamming members with unsolicited emails is a sure fire way to get banned and permanently loose your MySpace account. Be certain to follow the rules and terms of service that are provided by MySpace.

To further your MySpace marketing plans, create bulletin that are sent to your MySpace friends. The bulletins can be used to promote new products or business services. Join chat or forum discussions that pertain to the business you are promoting. By simply answering questions or chatting, people will look at your profile and see your business. Networking is one of the faster ways to spread the word about a business.

Depending on the nature of your business, you may want to refrain from posting the funny quizzes, games, or other things found on most MySpace profiles. They may be fun but they will give a very unprofessional look to your MySpace profile page.

MySpace does offer a limited demographic range. If your business does not target this demographic, the chances are that MySpace business marketing will not work for you. However, MySpace is a cost effective form of marketing your business. Not only is registration and set-up free for a full customizable marketing page, you will have access to one of the fastest growing sites on the internet.
