MySpace Trackers: Why is MsTracker Ratting Its Users Out?

Becky Fuentes
At first glance, MsTracker seems just like any other MySpace tracker out there. It claims the same things - sign up for their MySpace tracker and you'll be able to know who has viewed your MySpace profile. But if you take a look below the surface of MsTracker you'll see one small detail that makes it very different from other MySpace trackers.

The first time I visited MsTracker I was surprised at their plain website layout. There were no flashy graphics or pop-up ads... just text and links. They claim to have almost 700,000 users who have the MsTracker MySpace tracker installed on their MySpace profile.

Right off the bat, MsTracker asks the requisite question that all MySpace tracker sites ask, "Why should you use our MySpace tracker?" They give the requisite answers also - you'll be able to see who views your MySpace page and track them on our nifty GPS-accurate world map and of course it's all FREE!

There was really nothing much to prompt me to sign up for MsTracker - I research MySpace trackers, but I don't like to install them on my personal MySpace profile. However, as I continued to read the front page I noticed something really interesting.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the MsTracker MySpace tracker homepage you'll find a link that says List of Users tucked conveniently under their privacy disclaimer that states that they respect their visitors privacy and will never sell any info obtained through their services. Well, maybe they won't sell it, but they will let anybody who wants to know see if you've signed up to use MsTracker.

Even more surprising was what I found when I clicked on the List of Users link. The people at MsTracker proudly state, "Below is a list of our tracker users, these people have a myspace tracker on their page!" and then follow it with a list of MySpace Friend IDs. Click on any one of the MySpace Friend IDs and you'll be directed to that persons MySpace profile. Wow!

So do all MsTracker MySpace tracker users now that this MySpace tracker site rats them out to anyone interested?

Now it could very well be that MsTracker users do know... and they might not even care. But the whole things seems a little weird, doesn't it?

Also, it seems to me their math is a little off. Like I stated before, on the MsTracker homepage they claim to have almost 700,000 users yet on the list of MsTracker users the list only goes to page 49. Each page only has approximately 50 MySpace friend ID's listed and last time I checked 50 x 49 didn't equal 700,000.

My advice is this - if you're looking for a MySpace tracker you might want to pass on MsTracker.

This does sound fishy!!.....I wonder if they have a myspace tracker that will tell who views your myspace.."other then the ones who have the same myspace tracker"?...:) .....I had "the space tracker"...same deal...
