On Facebook, it is much less busy, which some people like. The pages don't take as long to load, either. It is easy to view your messages and wall posts, and it tells you right on your homepage exactly how many you have. It tells you when someone accepts your friend request. It is perfect for someone who is just looking for a website that is quick and easy, and mostly directed towards people who are just interested in keeping in touch with their relatives and friends.
Now let's take a look at MySpace. On your MySpace homepage, it also tells you when you have new messages, comments, friend requests, and when someone accepts your friend request. However, you do have to click on it to view it, it doesn't just simply tell you. You know you have them, you just don't know what they are, or who they are from. Personally, I get a lot of traffic on my MySpace page, so it is perfect for someone trying to promote their music, or something of that nature.
Some cool perks that MySpace offers that Facebook doesn't are things like blogs. MySpace gives you the option of posting something in a blog or bulletin. You could use it to record your daily events, tell someone a funny story, or something scary or cool that happened to you, you could write about your feelings, or just go on forever ranting about anything your heart desires. Blogs only show up on your page, but bulletins are sent out to everyone on your friends list.
Another neat thing that MySpace has to offer is the option of a background for your profile. You can choose from a wide array of backgrounds to get the one that best fits your personality. It's a good way to make your page more like you. You can choose from animals, to lighthouses, to dark poems, to obscene backgrounds. You can even get layouts that do cool things like change the color of the font, and type of font. You can also have your cursor be something cool, like an actual mouse, or have stars trailing behind it when it moves.
Something else to take into consideration is that MySpace offers profile music, whereas Facebook doesn't. Anything from Marilyn Manson to Christian rap. Any song you desire, all of your favorites, you can put right there on your homepage for others to listen to whenever they visit your profile.
Personally, I enjoy MySpace more because of all of the extra features. Coincidentally, I probably use Facebook more, because a lot more of my family and friends like Facebook better than MySpace. So now that you know pretty much everything you need to know, the choice is yours! What will it be? MySpace or Facebook?
