Mystery writer John Sandford
John Sandford's name is really John Roswell and was born in 1944 in Iowa. When he first started writing professionally he was working for two different groups and took his mother's maiden name to write under of Sandford under one of them.. He did write under John Camp also, but most of his books are now use the pseudonym of Sandford.

John started writing at a young age in the fifth grade and was encouraged by his teachers to keep writing. He went on to become a reporter and writer during a stint in the Army where he went to school on "How To Write For the Army," and wrote for the base paper in Korea. After his military service he wrote for several newspapers across the country, also got a BA in American Studies and later a Masters in Journalism.

He has written many books, among them "The Prey" series and "The Kidd" series plus two non- fiction books and four other books not related to any of this plus a ghost story that has never been published plus two other books that publishers turned down as being to realistic. His characters be they male like Lucas Davenport or female are written superbly. Furthermore, the pace of his books will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next. He gives you a real thrill ride and for anyone who likes mysteries it will keep you guessing to the very end. His latest book is "Dark of the Moon" which just came out recently.

He is married and has two children, a daughter and a son.
