Mystic, Connecticut: Here We Come

Downtown Mystic, Connecticut is a historic place where tourists come to visit during summer time. Buildings here were architecturally designed in the 1800's. The most scenic attraction here is the Mystic River where you can find boats and yachts that are sailing to and fro and a drawbridge that causes 15-minute traffic when it goes up while a boat that carries tourist passengers passes along . Isn't that wonderful? Well, for me it is.

We happen to live close to this area, just a 10-minute walk away. When we first arrived to our new home, it was a lonely feeling because the place was so quiet with only trees and houses in sight as far as my eyes could see. Good, we live in a mobile home park where houses are built closer to each other with only small playground. I can even say hello to my neighbor through our window or door with a normal voice.

The next day, we started to explore the place. We walked the walk, since we didn't have a car yet. We went to the river where people from different places come to visit, sitting nearby watching those boats and yachts passed along while others did fishing by the side. It was so relaxing and refreshing. Close by, you can also find the Mystic Pizza, ice cream house, Mystic Toys, and other stores where you can buy t-shirts and paintings as remembrance. In the vicinity are Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. You can even take a boat from downtown mystic by the drawbridge going to the Seaport. Oh, how we love boating. Then, i realized it was not a sad place after all. In fact, it is beautiful and amazing.

As days go by, we learn to love the place. Actually it's my work that brought us here. I have no regrets whatsoever. I could walk to my workplace for 3 minutes and we are surrounded by nice people. It makes me feel at home like " home sweet home". Thanks God, we are in the place which is a tourist destination. God is really very very good. He knows what is best for us. It might not as best as what we thought at first but later on we learned to appreciate God's leading. And so, as what the Bible says, God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
