Mystic Kick: Modern Rock Music Band on the Rise!
Reviewing Mystic Kick for You Must Be What it Would've Been like to Get a Babe Ruth Rookie Card!
I like my rock music neat...and by neat I mean...like Scotch sort of 'neat.' Good Scotch whiskey doesn't need an ice cube to screw it up. Good rock and roll music doesn't need a bunch of special effects and flaming runaway zombie ponies to be enjoyable. Mystic Kick doesn't bring anything but the one thing they do so well: Singing, instrumental, and drums! Okay! That was three things. That just shows you what a music value this band will be for you and your family's rock music needs!
In my communications with founder, bassist, and back-up vocalist for the band, Kyle Watters, I found a fellow that is friendly enough to talk business with, intelligent enough to understand my mumbling, and talented enough to be part of a band that rocks like you just wouldn't freaking believe! I'm well aware of how awesomely lucky I am to be giving them this review right before they really take off like they will.
Kyle shares with me that his journey to rock music stardom began in Deep River, Ontario, Canada. (Author's note: What's the deal with killer musical talent up in Canada? What? Are you guys incubating musician eggs up there or something?) He started listening to his drumming and guitar muses at the ripe old age of five. While that might've been a late start for other musicians, Kyle caught on quickly enough, and by the time he was 'just a young feller' he played with a couple of now-defunct bands as an amateur.
Any reader can always tell a true rock musician, with music as their first love, by their wish-lists on any social networking sites. They always read just one thing: "To get signed on with a good record label." While it's not the authors job to get anyone's hopes up (you should hold those up yourself, Kyle), it's bound to happen with any rock music band that sounds this good.
Kyle is joined in his band by his mates Brandon Welling-Lead Vocals and Rhythm guitar, Dave Foster-Lead guitar, and Corey Coles-Drums and percussion (Drums! Oh yeah!). Their genre of rock and roll music is "Indie/Alternative" Rock music.
At first, when I sampled the rock music of Mystic Kick, there was an 'edgy,' modern, deep-bass sound. It catches the listeners attention immediately. By the time the lead singers voice kicks in, look out! You're into the song. Of the samples I listened to at their homesite (in the sources list below) I'd probably have to pick "Tightly" myself. Tell us in the comments which you pick.
Make sure you drop by their official site, http://www.MysticKick.com, and get over to their fan page on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/mystic.kick too! This band has a great sound worth listening to.

Okay, I gave 'em a try. "Tightly" reminded me a little bit of a Silverchair song. I have no idea what happened to Silverchair.
