Myth 1: One franchise will make me a lot of money
The very first myth that I would like to discuss is that one franchise will make you a lot of money. The truth is that most franchises lose money before they ever start making money. When you buy a franchise, you have to consider all of the financial aspects that go with it. Before you are paid, you have to make sure that the utilities, rent , franchising fees, employees, and all taxes are paid before you even see a single red cent of the money. The average income for a person who owns a franchise is $55,000 per year. The way you make money with franchises is owning multiple franchises. You want to start off with one franchise first. Take your time and make that franchise as profitable as possible. You want to take the profits from your first store and invest it into owning a second store. Once that second store is profitable, take the money and invest in a third store. You want to make sure you build slow and steady. Do not rush and try to own more than one store in a short period of time. This has caused a lot of franchises head aches. You will make more money by building slowly.
Myth 2: I am going to have more free time
The second myth that I want to go over is the notion that you will have more free time when you buy your own franchise. The truth is that most of your time will be spent in your new business. If you are a family man, get ready not to see your family for a very long time. You have to put in many hours to make sure that you store is running the way that you want it to. Businesses do not build themselves and if you neglect your store, you may very soon not have a business. There will come a time where you will be able to take some time for yourself once you have gotten key people in place such as your managers and your general managers, you can spend your time doing the stuff that matters, such as promoting your business.
Myth 3: Franchises are guaranteed money maker
The last myth I want to go over is that thought that franchises guaranteed money makers. Even though franchises may be may be a more structured business model than a typical start up business, it is still a business. You want to make sure you treat your franchise business as one. You want to make sure you follow all of the rules when It comes to running a business. A franchise can become a guaranteed money maker, but only if you treat it like the business that it is.
Financial success depends on you and if your vehicle of chose is franchising, then go for it. But as stated before. Treat your franchise as any other typical business and you will have great rewards.
