Where are the MyTown Trophies?
During gameplay, click on the gold trophy icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. You will see a list of several trophies that you can earn by reaching milestones in the game. The trophies are awarder for many accomplishments from adding so many of your Facebook friends as neighbors to constructing certain types of buildings in your town.
Start with the 'Dont Hate, Decorate!' Trophy
This is the absolute best MyTown trophy to start with for two reasons - It's free and it is quick. The decoration trophy is awarded for placing decorative items throughout your town. To reach the top decoration trophy, you need 1,000 decorative items in your town. Click on the 'Decor' icon at the bottom of your screen to see all of the decorations that are available. You will notice that many of the items are free. Place the free items around your map until you have achieved the top trophy (which pays a hefty 10,000 coins, by the way!). Once you are done, simply use the remove tool (the bulldozer icon in the bottom right corner) and remove all of the decorations.
MyTown for Facebook Tip #1 - Don't select trees as your decorative item. Maybe it is just a temporary glitch, but for some reason, trees cannot be moved or deleted from your town.
Level-Up By Simply Spending Your Freshly Earned Fortune
Now that you have a decent coin reserve, it is now time to build your town. There are three types of buildings - homes, businesses, and city buildings. Focus on the city buildings first. These earn the most experience points and help you level-up (and unlock more building types) quicker. By the time you have spent all of the coins that you have earned, you should be around level 10.
MyTown for Facebook Tip #2 - Try to focus on building only one of each building type to start. There are several trophies for reaching a certain number of unique buildings. These trophies also have huge payouts.
