I usually only pay around two dollars and fifty cents for a twelve ounce box. Occasionally this product goes on sale for less than two dollars and that's when I stock up. Even at the regular retail price, this is definitely a bargain. A bag of chips generally costs more than that and contains more calories and Fat. The crackers are contained in a bag inside the outer carton, making divvying them up into smaller plastic bags for snack time very easy.
I love that these munchies are baked and not fried. All kids love junk food and while it is important to steer them away from it as much as possible, I do like to allow them a bit of leeway as long as they eat enough healthy foods to counterbalance the less healthy snacks. If given the choice, I prefer to offer them crunchy snacks that are baked instead of deep fried in oil.
One twenty nine cracker size serving contains only one hundred and fifty calories. There is six grams of Total Fat and one point five grams of Saturated Fat. There is no Trans Fat in these crackers which I like very much. There is also no Cholesterol in this snack food. There is three hundred and forty milligrams of Sodium in each serving which represents fourteen percent of the daily recommended value of Salt. There is also forty five milligrams of Potassium offered. There is less than one gram of Dietary Fiber in this snack food and no Vitamin A. On the positive side there is two percent of Calcium and six percent of Iron per twenty nine cracker serving.
My girls love the fact that this snack food is made with real cheddar cheese and I agree that this is a real benefit to this product. The artificial flavoring of other similar snacks simply don't have that authentic taste. When you are in the mood for a tasty cheese snack, you certainly want to be able to taste real cheese, not a facsimile. I enjoy the fact that there is no greasiness to these crackers, which is not the case with other cheese crackers. You don't get that unpleasant after taste while snacking on these munchies, which I definitely appreciate.
Overall I would give Nabisco Cheddar Cheese Nips an enthusiastic five star rating. The crackers are reasonably priced, taste terrific and offer a very satisfying crunch. For as long as I am packing lunches, I will surely be purchasing this snack food again and again.
