Nabisco's New Fruit Thins Review - Chocolate Raspberry Flavor

JRS

New Chocolate Raspberry Newtons Fruit Thins are a rich, indulgent cookie, brand new from Nabisco, that I just can't get enough of!

Other than the occasional fruit seed, there is little comparison of these new Nabisco Newton cookies to the old, original Nabisco Fig Newton cookies.

You know, the ones that are '...not a cookie, but a Newton?' I like the Original, and the Fruit Newtons well enough, but these little 2-1/2" gems are so rich and wonderful, that I just can't stop eating them! To say I am addicted is definitely an understatement!

While Nabisco Newton Fruit Thins are available in a variety of flavors, none in particular appealed to me by virtue of the package photos. Made with whole grain and real fruit, they all looked like a 'healthy' cookie!

Each 10.5oz bag of Cranberry Citrus Oat, Blueberry Brown Sugar, Chocolate Raspberry, and Fig and Honey crispy cookies come in a resealable bag to keep your tray of cookie thins conveniently fresh, and handy.

I tried the New Nabisco's CHOCOLATE Raspberry Newtons Fruit Thins, which combines real raspberries and rich cocoa for 'One unique cookie!'

Other than addictively rich and delicious, I find it difficult to describe the flavor of Nabisco's Chocolate Raspberry Thins. Remember those crisp, thin chocolate cookies that were the same ones they used in making ice cream sandwiches? Well, they kind of remind me of a combination of those cookies and those crispy, flower-shaped gingerbread thins that come in a small package of only one row. With bits of chocolate pieces mixed in, the flavor is definitely cocoa oriented and not very strong in the raspberry area. That is okay by me, because, even though I generally like the combination of chocolate and raspberry together, it doesn't make for an everyday flavor in my book.
Also, fortunately for me, I can have three entire cookies for a respectable 140 calories! (That is, if I were able to stop at just 3 cookies.) For many people, savouring just 3 of these rich, 2-1/2" cookies is filling enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. But, in my case, when I'm having a chocolately, cookie craving, I could really down an entire 10oz bag of these goodies in one day all by my self! Also, what really makes me feel good about these Nabisco Newtons Fruit Thins is that they don't contain that dreaded, high fructose corn syrup! Also, Newtons Fruit Thins are they're made with whole grain wheat flour for a nutritious eight grams of whole grain per serving.

Other benefits of this whole grain goodness are the 2 grams of fiber and protein, and the 6% of iron they have!

I'm thinking these will go good with my morning coffee or my after dinner tea or dessert! And because they are thin and crispy, no doubt these Newton Fruit Thins would make for a good dipping cookie with fruit and cream cheese dips.
I even found that they tasted great with a Raspberry Walnut Spread I'd purchased at a local farmers market. Nabisco Chocolate Raspberry Newtons Fruit Thins will become a definite staple in my home and in future grocery purchases. In fact, for next time, I think I'll be trying out the Blueberry and Brown Sugar variety!

Disclaimer: I was in no way paid any kind of enbdorsement to review or promote this delicious new cookie!
