Nadya Suleman's Donations Website the Latest in the Octuplet Saga

Did Suleman Get Plastic Surgery to Look like Angelina Jolie?

Sarah F. Sullivan
Two weeks ago, I was one of millions who wrote about the exciting births of Nadya Suleman's octuplets. At the time, Suleman wished to remain anonymous. But soon, her identity and more came out into the open, including the fact that she lives with her parents in their three-bedroom home, has $50,000 in student loans, does not have a job and on top of all that, has six other children at home under the age of seven, three with disabilities.

Now, Suleman has website so that people can donate items for her children. The website features pictures of the octuplets, as well as a separate page for comments and credit card donations. Though Suleman initially said she didn't need government assistance, she is currently receiving food stamps.

The situation is troubling and people are speaking out.

"Not a penny for her, but I'd donate to Child Protective Services so that they have the resources to remove these kids (and the first six)."

"Is she insane? Not a penny from me.

I hope someone donates a large amount for those kids though. Just not from me.

And does she really want comments from us? Really?"

These comments from the Los Angeles Times comment box are only a smidgen of the opinions put forth by the American people and unfortunately, I have to say that I agree.

I say unfortunately because of the children, because really, that's who will suffer most from this situation. When I first heard about the births, I was just as excited as the next person. It was a moment in history! It was interesting and everyone wanted to know about Suleman. Now everyone is wishing she would go away. Unfortunately, those children have nowhere else to go.

Suleman is banking on starring in a reality series, writing her own book or even having a feature film made about her. Some people have even noticed the disturbing similarity between Suleman's features and those of Angelina Jolie's. As much as I would hope Suleman wouldn't be so irresponsible as to use any money on plastic surgery, old pictures of her seem to suggest that she did just that. View the picture here.

Suleman has gone from a celebrity to a villain, earning the name "Octomom" from the press. However, as much as I agree that Suleman was not only irresponsible in her actions and is using her children to gain her fifteen minutes of fame, I can't help but think of those children. When I do, part of me wants to donate money to that ridiculous website.

Why? Because it pains me to think of those children being neglected and of Suleman's exhausted parents who will take care of the octuplets plus six. I'm honestly torn because those children didn't ask to be born into such circumstances, so why not help out a little?

They're blameless in this situation. Yet, I still can't convince myself to suck in my pride and put money into Nadya Suleman's PayPal account.

No wonder California is broke. How can she use Student Loans to raise her children. Is California that stupid. I thought these loans could ONLY be used for education.

The State of California should sue this woman and her doctor in behalf of the people of California. We will end up paying for her crazyness.

Im sure Nadya will need help supporting her children but do you not think she should have thought about that prior to have these children. Even if her intention was to only have 1-2 more, that is clearly more than she could afford. She is on food stamps with no job allowing tax payers to support her choices. Im all for people receiving help from the government, especailly when needed, but this woman has taken advantage of our sytem and continues to make CHOICES to further put herself and her children at risk.

It was not too smart of the doctor to implant 6 embreyos in an unmarried mother-- those babies are all small and may have health problems due to the mom's lack of insight Nadya should marry the biological father boyfriend

I'm sure that many people have mixed feelings about sending them a little something but I have no doubt that the "octups" will be, materially, well taken care of. The rest will remain to be seen!

I just don't understand if she is so broke how could she even afford fertility treatment? That isn't cheap!!! Which really makes me wonder is someone paid her to have octuplets.
