Toledo Ohio has welcomed another addition to the wonderful style of Hibachi cooking in the new restaurant Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi. This location is rooted in Perrysburg, Ohio in the Town Center at Levis Commons.

My favorite aspect to these types of restaurants is the tableside cooking. When you enter in to the Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse you get the idea that this will not be any different-you can see all of the chefs hard at work dazzling and entertaining their guests.

The wait was not too bad, we arrived early for dinner and there were only 2 of us. When seated at your table, keep in mind that you are the small part of a larger table, and will be sat with people you do not know and may not normally dine with. If anything, this would be my only complaint in this style of restaurant, so whenever possible travel there with a larger group (6-8 people) to really get a more personal experience out of it.

Once seated, you have a great dinner and sushi menu to pick from. Any and all sushi choices are ready to be made, and we opted for the simple California roll sushi. It was delicious, soft and very well put together with loads of crab in the middle. Dinner menu selection was exquisite, each of the hibachi dinners comes with a bowl of mushroom broth-which is a great palate cleanser to start with-a house salad, and bowl of rice. Also included with each dinner is a small shrimp appetizer and grilled vegetables-usually zucchini and mushrooms. The dinner choices range from chicken and steak to more seafood choices such as salmon and shrimp. For a more unique taste, I recommend a combination plate with filet mignon and scallops. They also have choices on their menu for those that do not like hibachi cooking, such s grilled pork chops, lobster tails and pan seared seafood.

Once your order is placed, the chef makes his way out to your table after you receive your soup and salad. Energetic from the start, these chef are there to cook an amazing meal and entertain at the same time. We had a fun, lively chef who made sure to do all of the tricks you would expect-fancy knife and utensil tricks, spinning and moving them all over the table. Oil and flame special effects on the table also lends to a fun time. These chefs however are not just picked for their entertainment value, the food was authentic and very tasty. I had the filet mignon medium and scallops, each cooked exactly where they should be, the meat soft and juicy and the scallops still soft and well prepared. Overall, an amazing dish served up in just a few minutes right in front of you-you know it is hot and fresh when they do that!

Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi provides another wonderful choice for hibachi enthusiasts in the northwest Ohio area. When you find yourself in Perrysburg, stop in for an amazing and entertaining dinning experience.
