Nail Envy by OPI: Product Review

Like many women, I love the look of strong, healthy fingernails. Unfortunately, I have suffered from brittle nails my entire life. I've bought countless nail strengthening products that promise longer, stronger nails in just a few days. Inevitably, I end up disappointed with the results. My nails don't grow, and they still break easily.

In a moment of weakness, I gave up on ever having gorgeous natural nails and tried acrylic nails for a friend's wedding. I vow never to do that again. Not only was it painful, but the upkeep on artificial nails is way beyond my budget. Then there came the realization that I had completely destroyed my natural nails with the artificial nails. It took my nails over six months to recover from the damage the acrylic nails caused once removed.

I admit I was somewhat hesitant to buy my first bottle. At the time, I was a poor college student, and that $15 price tag had me experiencing a bit of sticker shock. If this stuff didn't do the job, I was going to be out more than just a few bucks. Nevertheless, I sucked it up and purchased my first of several bottles.

The directions for Nail Envy will tell you to apply one coat of the strengthener directly to your nails, and then apply a second coat when the first dries. You can then polish your nails with your favorite shade of nail polish, add a top coat, or simply let the Nail Envy work its magic solo. Every two days you will want to reapply a coat of Nail Envy over what you've already applied.

After two weeks, you'll want to completely remove this build up of strengthener. By this time, you'll have noticed your nails are longer and stronger, and you'll be hooked. After the initial two weeks, you can use Nail Envy as needed to keep your nails looking their best. I choose to apply it as a base coat each time I decide to polish my nails.
