Nair vs Veet Rasera: Which is Really Better?

Jody Morse
For years, I have heard of people who were fascinated by the idea of Nair. You could shave your legs without actually having to take a razor to them! How amazing. But, since Veet Rasera has hit the stores, many people who were once long time Nair users have decided to use this instead. After testing out both Nair and Veet, I have found that there are a number of different reasons that I prefer Veet Rasera. Here, I will share my reasons with you.

1. Veet comes with an applicator to remove the hair. The applicator reminds a lot of a razor, but it does not have any blades. You use the applicator to push the hair off of your skin once it has become loosened by the formula. Before buying Veet, I recommend that you look around and find the product which offers this applicator, as several types of their products are rumored not to. It is called the Veet Rasera Bladeless Applicator Kit. With Nair, I always had a really hard time removing the hair after it became loose because there was no such applicator. The Veet applicator really makes this product very easy to use when removing hair.

2. My hair seems to loosen quicker when I use Veet. I do not even need to leave Veet on the hair as long as the directions tell you to. My hair becomes loosened quicker than the recommended time for leaving it on hair. I found that when I used Nair, I had to leave it on my hair about ten minutes longer than the directions tell you to before I began to see any type of hair loosening results. Leaving it on longer than recommended was not only probably bad for my hair and skin, but it also was a huge annoyance. Using Nair is meant to be easier than shaving the legs, but when it takes so longer to work, I think that shaving with a razor is a lot more convenient. Luckily, I do not have these problems when I use Veet.

3. Veet does not smell as bad as Nair does. Of course, there is no doubt that Veet doesn't smell so pretty itself. Through my experiences, however, I have found that Nair seems to be a lot stronger smelling than Veet. Sometimes, I would notice that I could still smell Nair on my legs even after I had washed it off. With Veet, I did not have this problem. On the positive side for Nair, I hear that it is being offered in other scents now - such as Cocoa Butter and Cucumber Melon. If you are going to use Nair, these scents are probably worth trying because the regular scent of Nair stinks pretty bad.

These are just three of the many reasons that I have grown to love Veet more than Nair. I have heard of people who still prefer Nair to Veet, so it is probably a personal preference thing. If you want to use one of these products, I recommend you test out some of their products before you decide which is right for you.
