I remember
When we stood beneath
Those naked trees,
Their limbs screaming at the sky,
Like fists upraised in angry defiance
To the tortured clouds overhead.
The wind was a monster
And raindrops razors stung our faces
And we just stood,
You and I,
Alone under the naked trees.
