Nancy Pelosi's Emotional Hypocrisy

Tony Jingo
Is there ugly rhetoric in the current debate surrounding healthcare? You betcha! And it should not be condoned. I believe it is immature to justify bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior. This content is not going to do that, what it will do is illustrate the hypocrisy of the left, namely Nancy Pelosi.

Madam Speaker had this to say, "I think we have to take responsibility for our action and words." You can view the emotional address here. Pelosi continued by referring to the "late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric was very frightening...it created a climate in which violence took place." A reference to the murders of Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist.

Her statement in of itself is a sound one. Savvy onlookers, however, know what is under that plastic mask. Pelosi's cautionary tale along with recent cries of racism is the new bat wielded by the left. It serves to scare the opposition into silence. Listen people, opposing the POTUS is not a hate crime.

In all fairness, fancy Nancy did not call out any Republicans during her emotional performance. Later that same day the House Speaker did send out a fundraising letter, in which she could no longer contain herself.

In her letter, Pelosi accuses the opponents of "health-insurance reform" (note the name change) of cynical name calling and waging "false attacks on President Obama."

"I think we have to take responsibility for our actions and words." Oh, really Madam Speaker? Are you and yours ready to take responsibility of and for the following:

Uttered during the summer of '09 about the American people opposing Obama's plan(s):

1. "Un-American"-Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
2. "Evil-mongers"-Harry Reid (D-NV)
3. "Racist"- Jimmy Carter (D- former POTUS)
4. "Angry mob of extremists"- Democratic National Committee (DNC)
5. "Birthers and tea baggers"- Dick Durbin (D-IL)
6. "Very rabid people"- Steny Hoyer (D-MD)
7. "Political terrorists"- Baron Hill (D-IN)
8. "Ku Klux Klan"- John Dingell (D-MI)
9. "Brown Shirts [Nazis]"- Brian Baird (D-WA)
10. "Brain dead [lodged against opposing Democrats]"- Pete Stark (D-CA)

For the sake of brevity, I'll stop this list consisting of, uh, to borrow Pelosi's words, "Rhetoric that is frightening." What is egregious about this list of ten insults are that it is uttered by our elected officials and hurled at the American people.

Any forthcoming apology from Pelosi and her team's glaring lack of decorum? Didn't think so.

In conclusion, it is only fitting to close with Nancy's own words; yeah I know I said I'll stop at ten. Sue me, or rather call out, "You Lie."

Referring to the President of the United States: "Total failure"- Nancy Pelosi, 2008

Of course, she was referring to George Bush. Feel better now?

Madam Speaker did not mind protesters when they shared her ideology:

"So I think all of you who have spoken out for your courage, your point of view, all of it, your advocacy is very American and very important. I am a fan of disrupters. Let's not question each other's Patriotism when we have this very honest debate that this country expects and deserves" - Nancy Pelosi, 2006 [emphases my own]

See her in all her glory, here

What does the Speaker of the House have to say about YOU if you have the audacity to oppose Obamacare? In a word, "Un-American."

Nice.

Hello, mainstream media?? Is this mike on??

If I voted the way these people did, I'd be afraid of the public myself.

Interesting how the left keeps on and on, about everything, and keeps wanting anyone remotely on the right to just hush.

You said it exactly, Tony! I've always respected your ideas on such topics. btw, I mentioned you in the interview with Charlotte Kuchinsky. Happy holidays..!

Write on, friend! You said it.

I found it funny since the "violence" Pelosi speaks of was Democrat on Democrat. To the commentor who mentioned KKK sympathizers...ummm, the Dems have an "ex" KKK member in the Senate...Robert Byrd. Not to mention the Democratic party is the party of slavery, segregation and fighting/voting against civil rights. Good article Tony

    Scary :)

How ironic. Voters also forget that approval ratings for the Pelosi Congress are consistently lower than even those of Bush when he left office.

Loved this one, Tony! Your words and opinions never fall short of encapsulating what is actually "American", no matter what folks like Pelosi say.

Very informative, once again! I want to read a version of the bill in lay English. Will somebody in Washington please say what they mean and mean what they say?

Wow - I love this VOR and Robert Adair - some new guys chipping in! Ditto Moursalen too. But I must beg to differ Tony - Pelosi has now been beat for hypocrisy. The height of hypocrisy prize must go to those Dems in Massachusetts who took the ability to appoint open-seat Senators away from Mitt Romney and now want to return it to the current Governor.
