If Tom Sawyer
had donned strawberry locks
and a mud stained petticoat,
had worn disheveled bows
and patent leather shoes
had fancied flowers, cats, and dolls
to crickets, marbles, and fish,
had donned strawberry locks
and a mud stained petticoat,
had worn disheveled bows
and patent leather shoes
had fancied flowers, cats, and dolls
to crickets, marbles, and fish,
His portrait would bear your face.
Unspeakably dear to my heart
holding a purple thistle bouquet,
grinning mischievously from ear to ear
with a "presumed innocent" look.
