Napa Valley Wine Country Information

Napa Valley, or the Napa County, is situated in California. The Napa valley is famous for its ever effervescent wineries and the flavorsome wines produced from this location. The wines produced from here are of world class quality and they are one of a kind. The most distinct brand produced from this part of the world is the Beringer wines which simply betters its counterparts in all aspects. The Napa valley which is an AVA, i.e. American Viticultural Area is replete with wineries all around producing wines which are not found in other parts. Some of the world famous wines produced from the Napa valley are the Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Rhone Varietals etc. Each of these wines stands out on their own in terms of their specialty.

We will have a brief review of the different wineries located in this beautiful region and the tourist attractions to this place. Napa valley is flanked by mountain ranges and has a Mediterranean climate that augurs well for the growth of wines and is situated nearly 220 kilometers from California. Tourist visits to this location has increased by a large extent mainly due to the wineries. Some of the famous wineries are the Rombauer Vineyards or the Rombauer winery, Rutherford hill winery, Clos du Val winery, V. Sattui winery, Plumpjack winery, Swanson Vineyards and many more.

The Rombauer winery produces superior quality wines and is located on a high hill just above the Silverado trail. This is not exactly a tourist destination or a picnic spot but provides free wines to all those who pays a visit here. The main wine produced here is the Merlot variety with its typical cherry-like aroma.

Rutherford Hill winery is the perfect tourist spot with engrossing cave tours and free wines. This winery is very pleasant with shady picnic areas and large courtyard. The cave tour is the distinct feature of this winery and this is charged. But there is no need to be discouraged because they provide you with wines produced from Cabernet and Merlots while you are enjoying the cave tour.

Another important vinery along the Silverado trail is the Clos du Val winery which has friendly and helpful people to guide you through the entire region. Pinots and Cabernets are the major produce here and a glass of wine is generally charged $5.

A holiday trip to Napa valley is never complete without a visit to the V.Sattui winery where there are free tasting rooms. This winery possesses large gourmet shop and picnic grounds which makes holidaying much more pleasant and enjoyable. Plumpjack winery of the Plumpjack organization is another important winery of the Napa valley with excellent service and helpful attitude of the people here. This is a very calm locale unlike the other wineries.
