Naruto Appears in His Own Deck! Mono Lightning Hits the Scene

In the game of Naruto Lightning decks have always had a few good cards, but have never really had the ability to stand on their own. They were always lacking the powerful jutsu or ninja needed to pull off the win. Well with the newest set, Revenge and Rebirth, on the scene we may see a shift in that trend. Lightning decks have received some major updated cards that are extremely powerful and a few good ninja too!

This deck is a build that focuses around a mono Lightning deck. These cards and the overall build of this deck are based on an average of deck arch types in use in the Naruto TCG world today. Feel free to make changes as needed to suite your individual needs.

Turn 0 Just getting started

2 copies of Konohamaru (Hokages Grandson)
2 copies of Rock Lee (Serious Injury)
2 copies of Naruto (Control of Power)

It's all about the set up here. Konohamaru will let you play your jonin ninja quicker, meaning major field advantage for you, and death to an opponent. Rock Lee is not a good attacker here, coming into play injured, but you get to draw a card, and he sucks up damage. Naruto is an awesome ninja that will give you amazing power on turn 0 and keeps your opponent on his toes. Naruto's power increases for each card you discard off the top of your deck during the battle, making him a possible threat until the late game.

Turn 1 The real fight begins

1 copy of Naruto (Self Sacrifice Attack)
1 copy of Rock Lee (Releasing the Gates)
2 copies of Temari (Analytical Mind)
2 copies of Sakura (Determination)

Naruto will damage an opponent regardless the outcome of the fight, and becomes stronger when injured. Rock Lee has the growth ability so you can make him useful from turn 0. Plus his effect is awesome doing 1 damage for each charka you discard. Sakura can give up to 3 support if you change her to injured status, really throwing an opponent for a loop. Temari is just plain good. She is the greatest turn 1 ninja in the game to date giving 3 support when challenged in battle. No draw backs, no tricks, just good.

Turn 2 Proctors and Toads

2 copies of Iruka (Reward)
1 copy of Izumo Kamizuki (Spectator)
1 copy of Gama

This turn is all about giving backup to your hard fighting Genin ninja. Iruka will heal any injured ninja in play, meaning Rock Lee is able to fight, and or Sakura gets her effect again. Izumo adds +1 attack to anyone you want as long as he sits on the sideline meaning once again you can really mess with your opponents head when choosing. Gama toad is just a good support, 2 while healthy, 2 while injured, and he regenerates to the bottom of your deck when he dies.

Turn 3

2 copies of Ebisu (Repeated Defeat)
1 copy of Aoba Yamashiro

This turn is about attack and draw power. Aoba is just a good ninja for attack or support, in essence he is a lightning version of Ebisu, but with more attack in injured status. Ebisu here will allow you a choice of attack or support, and has the added bonus of being able to draw a card when he is put into play.

Turn 4 The Jonin are here!

2 copies of Kurenai Yuhi
1 copy of Kakashi

Nothing really special about this turn, just the fact that Kurenai is the most awesome supporter in the game, giving +3 while healthy or injured. Kakashi is good as well, offering more attacking power then anything.

Turn 5 Laying down the law

1 copy of Might Guy
1 copy of Baki (Cleaning up)

Might guy is an awesome attacker with 6 power and he can back up Rock Lee giving him 4 support. Baki is a little weak on attack with only 5 but he makes up for it with his amazing power. Each time Baki is sent out to battle and survives your opponent has to ditch a ninja!

Turn 6 The End

1 copy of The Fourth Hokage (Hero of the Village)

This guy is amazing. He is a 5/3 while healthy and a 6/5 while injured, remind anyone of how Naruto works? Anyways those states are just crazy to begin with but his ability is what makes this card great. You can injure the Fourth Hokage to heal every ninja you have in play! This makes him more powerful, and you can reuse all the power you lost form previous battles!

Ok so there are the ninja that you can use, but what about jutsu? Well lightning does not disappoint!

3 copies of Clone Body Slamming
2 copies of Paper Bomb
2 copies of Sexy Jutsu (From Curse of the Sand)

Kunai is a great quick power up giving you +2 and anyone can use it. Clone Body Slamming adds +2 to anyone with clone status, like Naruto, but adds an additional +2 power for each coin flip you perform until you get tails. Paper Bomb is a direct damage card, and cheap at that, or it could force an opponent to use a jutsu card he would have previously held back. Sexy Jutsu is just amazing as it allows you steal an opposing male ninja for the turn and use him in the back of your team.

Jutsu's are awesome but you need help charging all that charka. To do that we have plenty of mission cards to choose from, but not a whole lot of room in the deck. So here are a few good choices for this particular build.

1 copy of Disaster of the Nine Tailed Fox Spirit
1 copy of Ichiraku Noodle Shop

ok so this is a wide variety of cards but all with good purpose. Legacy of the Hero will charge all your discarded ninja to the charka area rather then discard them. One Morning will allow you draw power, and you have plenty of wind cards to pull this off. Great Ninja adds one of your ninjas in the charka area to your field for one turn then they return, combos great with Legacy of the Hero. Disaster of the Nine Tailed Fox Spirit injures all in play ninja, every single one of them, and you have the healing capabilities to deal with that, your opponent wont. Finally Ichiraku Noodle shop will heal any of your ninja, again allowing you to use effects like the Fourth Hokages, and Sakuras again, and heal your ninja after the Nine Tailed Fox Spirit has done its damage.

So there you have it the mono Lightning deck of the future today! This deck is amazing, it's just so tricky and quirky it will trip up an opponent for sure, and that's always fun to watch. So go on and give this deck a try, Naruto would want it that way, Believe it!
